Salute to the General novel Chapter 2824

Just when Nathan was about to reply, Jermaine came in from outside.

He reported, “President Cross, Mr. Lucas has called to express the cabinet's relief over learning that you're safe. Also, he would like to inform you Bryon, President of Ariarica, has for the fifth time invited you to visit his country. Therefore, Mr. Lucas would like your opinion on how to reply to the invitation.”

Ever since Nathan first became President, Bryon had repeatedly invited him to Ariarica for a diplomatic visit.

However, Nathan coldly rejected the invitation every single time.

In spite of that, Bryon—keen on meeting his imaginary arch-rival— continued to extend his invitation to Nathan.

Initially, Nathan had wanted to turn down Bryon again, but after learning from Kraven that his master had disappeared in Ariarica and the fact that he was already considering going there, Nathan decided that he could leverage the opportunity to advance his agenda.

Hence, he gave Kraven a gleeful look. “Mr. Macalister, just when you mentioned that I'll be too busy to go to Ariarica with you, Bryon has extended an invitation that I can't refuse.”

Kraven exclaimed excitedly, “This is wonderful! Master, if you're able to use your position to engage Ariarica for help, I'm sure locating Master would just be a matter of time.”

Nathan replied, “Mr. Macalister, stop calling me Master. You're my master's servant, not mine.”

Now that Nathan was the president, Kraven still felt that it was appropriate to respect protocol even though he and Nathan were close.

Since he didn't dare address Nathan by his given name anymore and Nathan forbade him from calling him “Master,” he finally settled on “Mr. Cross” instead, which he would also use in formal settings just like Nathan's other subordinates.

Nathan had no choice but to agree.
