Salute to the General novel Chapter 284

Yedda Ortiz was shocked at his dad's words and stared at him wide-eyed. "Dad, you can't be thinking of using up the favor on Nathan Cross by asking Mr. Turner to let him off, right?”

Howard Ortiz nodded and answered, "You know me. I have always been upright and aboveboard in my dealings. Since Nathan Cross has saved my life, I can't leave him in the lurch after knowing that he is in grave danger."

Yedda Ortiz was clear about her father's character. The man was as stubborn as a mule. Once he had set his mind on something, no one would be able to persuade him otherwise. As such, Yedda Ortiz had no choice but to support his decision.

Howard Ortiz contacted Dip Turner that very night.

Dip Turner was rather surprised to receive the call from Howard Ortiz.

After knowing the reason for his old friend's call, he was even more baffled.

When Dip Turner recovered from his shock, he asked, "Howard, are you sure you want to use up that one precious favor I owe you on Nathan Cross?"

Howard Ortiz answered resolutely, "Yup, I hope that Mr. Turner can grant me my wish."

Dip Turner pondered for a while and agreed. "OK then, I'll spare his life. From now on, you and I are calling it even."

"Thanks for keeping your words, Mr. Turner," Howard Ortiz replied.

Nathan Cross was completely unaware that the old man whom he had saved by chance, was actually the former wealthiest man in Channing.

He would be even more surprised to learn that, in exchange for his goodwill, Howard Ortiz had saved his life from behind the scenes.

Nathan and Penny had a romantic candlelit dinner at the I'Agneau restaurant before returning home.

When the couple reached home, Benson, Leah, Kylie and Queenie were hanging out in the living room and watching TV.

"Daddy, Mommy!"

Queenie sprang up and ran towards her parents when she saw them.
