Salute to the General novel Chapter 2972

At Daragon Island, Colin and all his subordinates abandoned their fishing boats. They all retreated onto land and defended the island.

By then, less than a hundred men among Colin's subordinates could still battle.

However, every single one of them was injured.

Colin also had multiple wounds on him, covered in blood everywhere.

Even the sword in his hand had become blunted.

At that moment, he stared at the innumerable hostile fishing boats circling in the distance, remarking slowly, “It looks like the enemy is preparing to launch a new round of attack. Everyone, our fishing boats are all gone, so let's not think about breaking past their attack and escaping. Instead, let's all brace ourselves to sacrifice our lives for our country.”

All the soldiers dressed in fishermen's garb beside Colin had determination glinting in their eyes.

One of them announced loudly, “We voluntarily abandoned our fishing boats and retreated to defend Daragon Island, General Dunne! Even if we've got fishing boats, we'll never flee. We'd rather die in battle than allow the enemy to plant their flag on our soil.”

Grinning, Colin exclaimed, “I second that! I'm greatly honored that I get to battle with you passionate bunch side by side and head to death together. Back when I was in the North Army, I was somewhat disdainful of you Southern Fleet. It's only today that I learn that Southern Fleet is no different from the North Army, all brave souls who aren't afraid of death.”

After saying that, he ordered his subordinate, “Bring out the liquor. I want to have a drink with everyone.”

Soon, Colin and the others all held a bottle of liquor each in their hands.

Holding it up, Colin declared boomingly, “Let's head to the afterlife together after drinking this. But before we leave, we've got to slaughter them and drag a few of them down to keep us company.”

Everyone lifted their bottles in unison and echoed, “Let's head to the afterlife together after drinking this! We'll all kill them, as many as possible. Cheers!”

Colin and the others raised their bottles and knocked them back in concert, pride lingering in the air.

On the sea in the distance, Kiyoshi had just finished bandaging his wound.

Retrieving his red-tasseled spear from a soldier, he cast his gaze out at Daragon Island.
