Nathan did not respond to that.
The reward didn't catch his attention, but Blossom's mention of Nightfire Underground City did.
“Nightfire Underground City? What is that?” he asked.
Blossom couldn't believe her ears.
Blossom assumed that Nathan was part of the elite bounty hunter team and had come to this place to hunt down vampire aristocrats for the handsome reward.
However, Nathan was unaware of the existence and value of the core, as well as the nearby Nightfire Underground City.
It looks like Nathan and his companions aren't bounty hunters. If they are not bounty hunters, why would they come somewhere as dangerous as the vampire-occupied territory?
Despite her curiosity, Blossom dared not ask any questions.
She replied honestly, “Nightfire Underground City is a secret refuge for humans located underground, capable of housing tens of thousands of people. As its name suggests, even in the darkest of nights, there will still be light. It provides hope to those who are struggling to survive in the vampire-occupied territory, giving them a reason not to give up.”
Nathan could barely hide his surprise. “Constructing an underground city that can accommodate tens of thousands of people is no small feat. With vampires all over the place after the outbreak of the blood virus, how did they manage to build it without drawing attention?”
Blossom told him, “It was already built before the blood virus outbreak by a local millionaire as an underground shelter during peaceful times. After the outbreak, it was repurposed as a secret base for humans.”
A shelter?
Nathan was familiar with the idea of wealthy individuals constructing underground shelters during peaceful times in anticipation of potential threats such as alien invasions or world wars.
These individuals had the financial means to build large, well-stocked shelters capable of housing many people.
