Swoosh!
Thornweaver raised her skeletal whip, lashing it fiercely toward Shadowbeard's head.
Shadowbeard gazed at the skeletal whip rushing toward him at lightning speed. Suddenly, familiar images flashed through his mind, vaguely recalling something.
Right then, it seemed the skeletal whip was about to strike heavily on his head.
In the nick of time, his many years of life-and-death combat experience, which had honed his body's instincts, saved him.
He swiftly raised his right hand, deftly catching the tail end of the skeletal whip.
Thornweaver was surprised.
Before Thornweaver could react, Shadowbeard suddenly swung, sending her and her skeletal whip flying together.
Thornweaver was flung into the air, soaring a dozen meters high, and it seemed she was about to come crashing down heavily.
Yet, she switched to combat form in mid-air.
With a bang, two pairs of white wings sprouted from her back, causing her combat power to surge dramatically.
With a mid-air flip, she adjusted her angle, then swooped down toward Shadowbeard like a bolt of lightning. The skeletal whip in her hand emitted a faint white light as she once again lashed it toward Shadowbeard.
Shadowbeard was seriously injured, but he could still hold his own when Thornweaver did not switch to her combat form.
After Thornweaver had switched to her combat mode, he was immediately at a disadvantage.
He forcefully sparred with Thornweaver for a dozen or so moves, but it didn't take long for her to seize an opportunity.
Suddenly, Thornweaver was in the air, landing several consecutive kicks on Shadowbeard's chest.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
These feet were as fast as lightning and as powerful as a thunderstrike.
Each kick landed made Shadowbeard's body violently shake, forcing him to step back.
The final kick sent Shadowbeard's massive body flying through the air.
Phew!
Shadowbeard's body was sent flying, crashing through several massive trees before finally landing on the ground. He was barely breathing, and he no longer had the strength to get up.
The woman with the skeletal whip strolled leisurely over to Shadowbeard. Looking down at him from her superior position, she said coldly, “If there's a next life, remember not to be a vampire again. More importantly, in your next life, make sure not to oppose the Gods.”
Vampire? Gods? Shadowbeard listened to the words of Thornweaver, looking at her in front of him, her murderous intent chillingly clear. A flash of light sparked in his mind, and a flurry of memories came rushing in.
