Salute to the General novel Chapter 357

The next day, during noon.

Turner's Residence at Alberesque.

Dip Turner received his guest, Theo Bennett, in his luxurious study room.

However, his smile froze when he saw the death certificate handed over to him by Theo.

Dip narrowed his eyes, placed the death certificate on the coffee table, and said, "Mr. Bennett, what is the meaning of this? I'm confused. Can you explain it to me?"

Theo lowered his head and said solemnly, "As written in the report, criminal suspect Tory Lancelot attacked Nathan Cross in the detention room. He was beaten to death by Nathan out of self-defense."

Dip said thoughtfully, "And you were the one who signed this document, Mr. Bennett?"

Theo bit the bullet and replied, "It's the truth. I signed it since I was the highest-ranking officer at the scene."

Dip was silent. Theo had been sending too many weird signals since his arrival, so much that Dip had realized something was amiss.

Theo had rushed to Channing overnight. Dip found it unbelievable that Theo couldn't protect Tory in his position.

The thing that left him even more puzzled was how Nathan had managed to kill Tory under Theo's nose. It was a real slap in the face for the latter.

But the funny thing was that Theo didn't get mad. Instead, he returned with his tail tucked between his legs.

Theo was known for his overbearing and domineering personality. This was a first for Dip to see Theo acting like a loser.

The only explanation Dip could come up with was that Nathan Cross must be someone really influential. So influential, even Theo had to get his act together when it came to Nathan.
