Bluer, Solo, and Rocky all insisted that they were innocent.
Barok sneered, “Toothless wouldn't dare to mess with us, the Gods, on his own. He must have accomplices. You four are definitely involved!”
With that, he ignored the displeased looks on the faces of Octaclaw and the others and turned to the rest of the pirate captains, saying, “As for you all, if you want to prove you're not accomplices of Toothless, it's quite simple. All you need to do is join forces and take down The Formidable Five, and I promise to spare your lives.”
Hearing that, Toothless could no longer hold back his anger. He cursed fiercely, “You're trying to sow discord among us, to make us fight each other. We won't fall for your tricks. Give up on that idea and prepare for a fight to the death with us!”
After saying that, he immediately cut off the video connection between Barok and Digby.
“Toothless, you b*stard! you're going to get us all killed.”
“D*mn! We're all caught up in your mess.”
“I suggest we take down Toothless, then apologize to the Gods, begging them to spare us.”
“Right! Let's join forces and kill Toothless!”
Upon learning that Toothless was the culprit, the pirates were filled with righteous indignation, ready to gang up on Toothless.
With a calm expression, Toothless said, “Everyone, if you believe that by killing me, the Gods will spare you, then feel free to proceed. I won't resist.”
Octaclaw sneered, “But isn't it you who caused us pirates to be ruthlessly hunted down by the Gods? Do you really think we wouldn't dare to kill you?”
Toothless said, “I don't think you guys don't dare. I just want to say that even if you kill me, the Gods won't let you off. If their target was only me, they could have let you all go and kept me. They won't let you go because they want us to destroy each other.”
The faces of the Octaclaw and other pirates turned grim. They weren't fools, and they knew that what Toothless said was true.
The usually composed Rocky slowly began to say, “Toothless, this situation started because of you. Now that it's come to this, don't you think you owe us an explanation?”
