Salute to the General novel Chapter 3710

The moment Medille saw Yelena reappear, his initial shock quickly transitioned to slight anger, then a sense of relief.

Even in war, a couple must fight side by side.

Had it not been for Yelena's assistance in the past, he might not have been able to ascend to the throne of God King as smoothly as he did.

In the face of a formidable adversary, with admirals like Morgon and King William fallen in battle, a manpower shortage had become a pressing issue. Consequently, he found himself in dire need of a capable ally to join him in the fight.

Yelena emerged at just the right time.

Furthermore, when he angrily ordered his subordinates to drag out the four Marshalls for execution, a pang of regret had tugged at his heart after the command had left his lips.

Yelena's prohibition against executing the Marshalls was also, in a way, offering him a way out.

He rose from his seat, took a couple of steps forward, and feigned surprise as he inquired, “What brings you here?”

Yelena offered a slight bow in a sign of respect and then spoke with sincerity. “I did not come here because I want to, but because I learned of your intention to execute the four Marshalls. I had no other choice but to come and implore mercy on their behalf. Your Majesty, in this critical moment when we confront a formidable adversary, it is not the time to eliminate your own formidable subordinates. I implore you to grant them a chance, allowing them the opportunity to rectify their mistakes and make amends.”

In accordance with her plea, Medille replied, “Since you've put it that way, I suppose I can afford to grant them another opportunity.”

Having uttered those words, he directed a piercing glare at Filo and the others who were kneeling on the ground, his tone icy as he stated, “Your transgressions have been duly recorded. For the time being, I shall spare your lives. Join me in the battle in Tribulation Sphere. If you fail to atone for your sins on the front lines, I'll chop off your heads sooner or later.”

Filo and the others hastily expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Your Majesty, for your mercy.”

Medille scoffed and remarked, “If you wish to express your gratitude, thank the Goddess Queen, not me. It was she who interceded on your behalf and secured this chance for you.”

Filo and the others wasted no time. They promptly turned toward Yelena, expressing their heartfelt gratitude.

Yelena responded with a smile, saying, “There's no need for thanks. My only wish is that you fight valiantly in the impending battles and kill more foes to wash away the humiliation from previous setbacks.”
