Helen replied coyly, "Mr. Lupin, I wanted to ask Mr. Werner to help me deal with Nathan, but I never thought he would die. This is entirely my fault, and I'm willing to accept any punishment. However, I beseech you to not show mercy on his murderer. You must deal with Nathan Cross once and for all."
Preston smirked. "Any punishment, you say?"
Helen's voice wavered. "Yes!”
Preston stared at the incredibly seductive Helen and said in amusement, "Alright. Go back first. I'll visit the Cross family personally tonight. Wash up and await my arrival!"
A hint of smugness twinkled in the depths of Helen's eyes as she replied flirtatiously, "Yes. I will make all the preparations necessary and await for your glorious arrival."
She then stood up, took a few slow steps back, before turning around and sauntered out of the house.
Hershel and the rest burst into an uproar after Helen left.
Hershel exclaimed out of frustration, "Preston, Zayn is in a coma right now because that vixen seduced him. Werner also died because she enthralled him. She was just trying to seduce you earlier. Why are you walking into her trap? With your influence, you can get any woman you want!”
Upon hearing that, Preston chortled heartily. "Hershel, did you really think I was attracted to her? If you did, you are wrong. Undoubtedly, she is an exquisite beauty, but it isn't enough to draw me in. What I want is the Cross family's wealth!"
His admission shocked them.
They finally realized that Preston wasn't coveting Helen herself, but the immense wealth of the Cross family.
As night fell, Preston arrived at the Cross family's mansion with a horde of men.
Helen dressed provocatively as she brought a few of her subordinates to greet him.
