“Tidied up?” I unconsciously voiced out.
Rooney caught this and answered me without trying to hide anything, “Yes. Chairman Yard probably isn’t going to come back and just settle abroad. That’s why it’s getting tidied up.”
“I see.” I looked at the people coming and going upstairs, doubt filling me.
I had wanted to get some more information from Rooney but then Sylvester appeared. “I’ve looked through the project. It’s not bad. I’ll go to Grant Corporation tomorrow and hash out the details with President Grant.”
That sounded like he was chasing me away.
Could Sylvester really be hiding something?
So as to not arouse suspicion, I smiled and replied, “Alright then. I’ll take my leave first now. I won’t disturb you two anymore.”
Just when I was about to leave, Rooney grabbed hold of me. “Sylvester, I haven’t talked to anyone for so many days. Finally, another girl comes over, so why don’t you let her stay a bit more to keep me company?”
Sylvester glanced at me before looking back at Rooney. “Alright, as you like. President Lane, do stay back and keep my girlfriend company, then. Is that alright with you?”
“If you’re not against it, then of course.”
I was afraid he did not want me around.
Rooney wrapped herself around my arm happily and walked us inside. “Can I call you Wanda?”
“Sure.”
“That’s great! Sylvester has been so busy after I moved in that he doesn’t even have time to accompany me. Finally, I have someone to chat with. Let’s go. I’ll take you to go see my room.” Rooney did not seem like she was scheming anything at all. She looked just like a young woman.
Although she looked very beautiful, she was probably still young and very simple.
Rooney’s room was like herself, filled with femininity. There were pink details everywhere, and the luxurious princess bed was what surprised me the most.
“Sylvester prepared it for me. Isn’t it pretty?”
“Yes. It’s really beautiful.”
All girls most probably aspired to have such a princess bed. it looked really beautiful.
