Marius was unconscious the entire journey as we rushed to the hospital.
I was devastated as I looked at the knife in his chest. I could not say anything. I only knew that tears were streaming down my face non-stop.
Theo was at the side comforting me, but I could also see the deep pain on his face.
The road to the hospital had never felt so long even when the ambulance was able to shuffle through traffic simply.
Why were we not there yet? Why? Marius had to hold on!
I looked down at Marius who was unconscious.
I always thought he was too noisy, but now that he was quiet, I hoped he would just keep the racket up.
We finally arrived at the hospital.
Marius was sent to the operating room. My heart felt like it was on needles as I looked at the light at the top.
Unable to sit still, I paced back and forth in the hallway.
"Heaven helps the worthy. He'll be fine," Theo comforted me softly with an arm wrapped around my shoulders.
I raised my head to look at him, my tears still flowing. "It's all my fault, it's all my fault. If it weren't for me, he wouldn't have gotten hurt. Theo, the knife looked like it stabbed his heart. Will he…" I gripped Theo's hand tightly, not daring to finish my sentence.
He pulled me into his arms, and that gave me strength. "He won't. Marius is so noisy. Those up there won’t want him. Don't worry."
I could hear the shiver in Theo's voice. He was surely very upset.
Leaning my head on Theo's shoulder, I did not dare say anything anymore and just let my tears fall.
