At that moment, Shane came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his body.
Seeing this scene Cole thought back to how Charlotte was acting and realized that they must have come in at the wrong time.
"Mr. Fuller, Miss Charlotte has... She’s left," he said.
Shane simply nodded and sat down on the sofa.
Henry Johnson, Shane' s personal doctor, walked over to him with a smile on his face and a medical kit on his back.
He gave Shane a rough examination and deduced that the effect of the drug had completely subsided.
Henry Johnson was the creme de la creme of the medical field, and a good friend of Shane' s for many years.
"Ah, I remember that the last time you were drugged with this was five years ago because someone wanted to take your life. Who did this to you this time, and why?" Henry asked semi- humorously as he packed his equipment back into his kit.
As soon as he brought up this matter, Shane's face turned dark and grim. He narrowed his eyes slightly at Cole.
Cole effortlessly deciphered the message and tactfully turned to leave the room.
"Yuliana Lane," Shane said as he gave his glabella a little pinch.
Henry gently patted Shane's thigh and let out a chuckle, "Oh, I see. It was Ms. Lane! Still, my man, I'm not taking your side this time. You guys have been together for five years and yet, you still leave her alone in an empty bed. If I were her, I would have drugged you long ago! Who would've bothered waiting until today?"
As his laughter died down, Henry suddenly said in a serious tone, "Say, it's not because you have some mortifying disease with your privates, right? For real, though, I do know someone who’s an expert in..."
Before Henry could finish his sentence, Shane flashed him an icy cold glare.
It worked like magic. Henry was immediately silenced.
Lethargic, Shane leaned back into the sofa for forty winks.
