"Yes, some of them." Luke rubbed his nose and gave an embarrassed look. "Do you remember my best buddy from high school? His name is Yuri."
"I remember. He is very strong. He seems kind of nerdy, but he's a loyal friend," Sydney replied.
"Yup. After my father found out I was hanging out with punks a lot, he kicked me, so I quit the group. Yuri then became the leader. He’s not good at studying, but he's good at organizing people. That guy is a genius at leading people. Everyone in the group respects him. I don't know much about the group over the years, but I was in touch with Yuri and I heard a few things about the group. While it hasn't grown into a huge organization, it has some influence in Port City. Yuri can definitely get you a few punks." Luke promised as he patted his chest.
Sydney nodded. "That's great. I want to find some punks and give Dallin a good beating. He’s so disgusting."
"Syd, you've changed. You're a bad girl now." Luke gave a teasing smile.
Sydney was embarrassed. She made a cough and said, "I don't have a choice. Dallin crossed the line."
"I see. Otherwise, you wouldn't have made that decision. You're such a kind girl. Dallin must have done something terrible." Luke shrugged his shoulders and then asked, "Syd, what did he do to make you so angry?"
"I won't tell you what he did, but I can tell you that he did something to Julien, so I'm going to teach him a lesson for Julien. Julien has done so much for me, but I've done very little for him. I'm not as powerful as he is. There's nothing I can do for him. This time I can do something for him." Sydney replied with a smile.
Luke bristled and said in a jealous tone, "So you're doing it for Julien. I thought Dallin had offended you."
"Yes, I’m doing that for Julien." Sydney slapped him on the arm with a wry smile. "Will you help me?"
"Since you asked, how could I refuse you?" Luke squinted at her. "It's not a big deal. I'll give Yuri a call. He will do me the favor."
"Thank you." Sydney picked up the teacup from her desk and gestured to Luke.
Luke picked up his teacup as well. "You're welcome."
"I'm worried it's dangerous though." Sydney took a sip of her tea, put her teacup down, and said with a worried look, "The Sullivan family is powerful. I'm worried that he's going to find out who attacked him and he's going to retaliate against your friend..."
"Don't worry." Luke waved his hand carelessly. He knew what Sydney was worried about. "Yuri's a smart guy. He's been leading the group for over ten years since he was in high school, but the police have never come after them. What do you think the reason is?"
"The reason?" Sydney was confused, but it dawned on her soon that they might have connections. Her eyes lit up and she asked, "Are you implying that Yuri has a background?"
"Yes." Luke nodded. He patted her forehead and said, "You're a smart girl."
"Stop it. I'm not a pet!" Sydney slapped Luke's off her forehead and rolled her eyes at him.
Luke laughed. "Okay, I'll stop. But you sure are smart. You guessed the reason so quickly. Even though Yuri's a punk, he's not a bad guy. He's righteous. With him leading the group, his people aren’t as evil as other punks. They have a bottom line, so they rarely get into trouble. Importantly, Yuri sometimes helps the police and provides evidence of other gangsters doing illegal things. They’ve helped the police a lot. The police allow them to exist. As long as they don't go too far, the police won't deal with Yuri. Sometimes the police even give him a favor. Without Yuri, his group would become outrageous like other gangster organizations. That's not good for the police."
