Gloria stood in front of the entrance to the Shaw family residence.
The two butlers stood at the door like dutiful guards, both of them staring at the fifteen to sixteen-year-old girl in front of them. "Who are you looking for!"
"I need to see Mrs. Shaw." Gloria bit her lip and spoke with humiliation. If it was up to her, she would never come and beg the Shaw family for help, but her mother was dying, so she had no choice.
"Mrs. Shaw is not someone you can meet on a whim! G o away!" The butlers did not even bother taking another glance at Gloria. Even if she wanted to barge i n, she could not. But if she went home, would she be faced with the same look of desperation in her mother's eyes again?
The sixteen-year-old Gloria had no choice but to squat at the entrance and wait. She thought that as long as she waited until nightfall, maybe the man who was at least biologically her father would come home. If not, then if she waited until the next morning, someone was bound to leave the house, right?
Gloria waited all the way till the sun dipped over the horizon and night fell.
Around dinner time, a car slid to a stop in front of the Shaw family residence. Old Master Shaw, Mrs. Shaw,
their son, and Gloria's classmate, Jennie Gibson, climbed out of the car.
Jennie immediately noticed Gloria. "Why are you still s o such a b*tch! Why would you still come to my aunt and uncle's house!"
When Old Master Shaw saw Gloria, he glared at her, then turned to ask the butler, "What is this!"
The butler trembled with fear, "Lieutenant General Shaw, Sir, I chased her away. I thought she was gone, but who knew she would curl up here like a dog?"
