On the other end was Marcus's calm voice, which said "Sabrina, my grandfather wants to divide up the Shaw family's assets, including the Shaw residence. My grandfather left eighty percent of the assets to you and Aunt Gloria. My grandfather also wants to set aside a good burial site for my grandaunt, and he even said..."
Marcus paused for a moment.
He had not wanted to convey all of that to Sabrina.
He felt that Sabrina would probably not agree.
However, his grandfather did not sleep for the whole night.
In just one night, the old man had seemed to age a great deal. That morning, the old man even started to sway in his footsteps.
Looking at what happened to his grandfather, Marcus could not help but help his grandfather speak up.
Sabrina patiently listened. "Director Shaw, please continue. I'm listening."
"Grandfather means to give my grandaunt, your grandmother, the best burial site possible. He wants to be buried with her after he dies. He said that he wronged grandaunt too much while he was alive, so when he dies, he wants to stay by her side to repent."
Sabrina was speechless.
She looked up and glanced at her mother.
Her mother did not know who Sabrina was speaking t o on the phone; her mother was feeding Aino at that moment.
Sabrina sighed. "Director Shaw, in truth... You were right. You could even see how much I looked like your aunt. However, your grandfather always refused to acknowledge me. Just like you said, before my mother left the home, your grandfather never even spared a glance at her, let alone my grandmother."
Marcus said, "I know, I know all of that, Sabrina.
Sabrina continued, "So, Director Shaw, the past is in the past, and no one is planning on pinning the blame on anyone else. Since your grandfather decided to ignore my mother and my grandmother when they most needed his love and protection, shouldn't he refrain from disturbing the dead at this point?"
Marcus was speechless.
Sabrina said, "Just like my mother said, her relationship with your grandfather really is limited to just one sperm cell. In truth, the person the Shaw family has been looking for for the past thirty years isn’t my mother, but the aunt your grandmother gave birth to herself.
"Your grandfather only regrets everything because he thinks that that woman is the daughter of his former
wife.
"If he knew that woman wasn't given birth to by her, h e probably wouldn't have continued looking."
