Alex looked disheveled. Looking at his dispirited appearance, outsiders would feel sorry for him. If it was based on her past impression of him, even Sabrina would feel sorry for him.
Even till now, Sabrina remembered the first time she met Alex. Back then, she was in Sebastian’s office, feeling as if her life was hanging in the balance, as if she would be killed by him in the next second. She had no chance to even think about her job or career. However, when she was lost and dispirited, Alex had told her warmly, "You can have your own career, you can do the job that you like. Since you like the construction industry, you can work toward that."
That encounter alone left Sabrina with a good impression of Alex. Later, when she met his female companion, Sabrina loved how Jane was warm.
Sabrina had hardly met a woman as gentle, elegant, harmless, and humble as Jane. But a woman like her was chased out by him, even after accompanying him for so many years!
At this moment, Sabrina wished she could give him a tight slap. Even the little girl beside her rolled her eyes and looked at Alex. "Uncle Poole, I hate you! You are a bad uncle! You are worse than my Daddy!"
Sebastian did not say anything. At that moment, he felt wronged! Why was he involved when Aino was
talking about Alex? And she said he’s worse than her Daddy? When did he do anything wrong?
"I’m sorry, Sebastian. I dragged you down with me." Alex smiled bitterly as he looked at his friend.
Sebastian only said, "Get in."
Even if he was going to scold Alex, he could not do so i n front of a child. Besides, Sebastian did not know how to scold anyone at all. Sabrina had to be the one t o do these things like scolding or berating someone. But both husband and wife were not skilled at the art o f reprimanding someone.
That morning, after sending Aino to kindergarten, Sabrina worked for half a day until the afternoon. Then she left the office, deciding to meet the down and despondent Alex. Sabrina really did not want to scold him. But she had to find Jane immediately. At least get some news of her, even a phone call was enough.
When Sabrina finished her work and walked out of the office, she ran into Ryan Poole by accident.
