"Grandma has fallen ill. She is laying in bed and refusing to let the doctor see her. She said that as long as Aino goes back, she will recover," Sebastian explained calmly on the other end of the line. To be honest, he truly did not wish to go back to the old residence at all. He had never lived there before, so that was not home for him at all.
As for his grandma, although she had never harmed him before, she had barely known him when he was growing up. His grandma knew how to conduct herself very well. She knew better at keeping a low profile and restraining herself in comparison to his grandpa, father and stepmother. Therefore, Sebastian disliked the old residence to his bones. However, the old lady had fallen ill and she missed Aino very much. If they did not bring Aino to see her, it would be inappropriate. Therefore, Sebastian had no choice but to call Sabrina.
He did not expect that Sabrina would cry. "Sebastian, what did you say? Grandma...she is sick? Is her condition severe? It's our fault. We’ve been too occupied recently, and we haven't even gone back to the old residence to visit her.
Sabrina started blaming herself. "We actually are...still hanging out here in the mall. Where are you? Hurry and pick me up. I’ll bring Aino over now."
Sebastian felt an indescribable emotion swell up in his heart. The woman seemed aloof, but she actually was an incomparably gentle and warm person deep down. Grandma only showed Sabrina some warmth once, which was that time when he had brought Sabrina back to the old residence. Grandma had given her the family heirloom, which was a pair of chrismatite bracelets, at that time. Until today, Sabrina still treated it like a precious treasure. She could not bear to wear it and just kept it very well. Sabrina had never considered that the pair of chrismatite bracelets was originally the family heirloom, and since Sebastian was the only one left alive of his generation, the bracelet would be Sabrina's no matter what.
Grandpa was wiser at understanding the current circumstance, and just did her a favor without expecting anything. However, Sabrina had that engraved in her heart instead. She had a very good impression of Grandma.
Sebastian could only say, "Wait for me. Kingston and I will be there in half an hour. Kingston will drive Yvonne and Ruth home, and I will bring you to the old residence."
Sabrina nodded and she hung up the phone.
"What's wrong, Sabrina?" Yvonne asked with concern.
"Grandma had fallen ill. I'm guessing it’s because she missed Aino too much. She was more stubborn, so she was not willing to see the doctor and eat."
Ruth immediately urged, "Quickly go visit her then.”
Yvonne also agreed. "She is already almost more than a hundred years old, and she only has Aino as the only great-granddaughter. You should go pay her a visit."
“Let's go," said Sabrina. They had originally wanted to hang out at the mall until sunset before returning home. Now that they had to go back immediately, Ruth and Yvonne could not help but to nag Sabrina.
Ruth spoke first. "Sabrina, don't say that I didn't remind you! When you send Aino to kindergarten on Monday, you're not allowed to talk to that arrogant woman earlier!"
"As long as I see you having an interaction with that woman, I will break your legs!" Yvonne joked. Sabrina could not help but burst out laughing.
"Are there actually best friends like the two of you? In the past, when I introduced Jane to both of you, I didn't see you getting all jealous."
"Hmph! How can that woman compare to Jane?" Yvonne asked sharply.
"Aunt Jane is very kind, alright? She seemed like the kind of woman who is very tolerant and kind at first glance. But what about that woman? She seemed aloof, but it's actually mean and sarcastic! I just won't allow you to have any interaction with her!"
