"Sabrina! Damn you!" The moment he opened his mouth, Sean started cursing at his daughter-in-law.
Sabrina:
She was rudely awakened by Sean and his call. When Sebastian walked out to answer the call, he locked the door behind him from the outside, Sabrina was locked in. Since she could not go out anyway, she simply laid down and continued to sleep. Within ten short minutes, she had fallen asleep again. And now, a short while later, she was rudely awakened by Sean and his call. Her entire body ached, whilst fragments of her heart lay scattered on the ground.
During that extremely short nap, she had a dream. She dreamt that she and Sebastian were divorced, but after the divorce, every single day, she cried and sobbed. Her heart could not bear the idea of leaving him; she was so depressed she felt as if her heart was going to shrivel up and die.
Having such a dream made her cry even in her sleep. When she was at the peak of her despair, she was awakened by a call from Sean. The phone call instantly pulled Sabrina back to reality.
Hearing Sean's screams and yells over the phone, she snorted feebly and said, "I don't think you can decide whether I should die or not, don't you agree? I guess you want me to die as soon as possible, but I won’t! I
still have to raise my daughter and support my mother. Why would I choose to die?"
To Sean's ears, Sabrina's feeble tone sounded lazy and unhurried, as if she was trying to anger him on purpose. His temper flared again. "You! Sabrina, how can you be so arrogant when death is knocking at your door! Alright, you’re so arrogant, aren't you? Fine then! We'll talk when you're here!"
"There?" Sabrina shot the question back at him. " Where are we going?”
"The old residence! To attend the family banquet!" Sean said viciously. "Did you forget what you promised me last week -- the family banquet during the weekend; you promised me personally that you would be here!"
"Haha!” Suddenly, Sabrina laughed so hard tears flowed out of her eyes. "Family banquet! Last week I promised you I would attend, but now I’ve changed my mind!"
"How can you break your promise!"
"Ha!” Sabrina snorted. "I'm a person who blows hot and cold about everything, isn't it normal for someone like me to break my promise? If I don’t attend your family banquet, won't I be given the death sentence? I’ll go if I want to, or skip it if I don't feel like going!"
Sean:
On her end, Sabrina had already ended the call. What a joke. She was going to divorce Sebastian soon! No!
Not divorce him! Overnight, her relationship with him had regressed by 50 years. She was his prisoner, his slave. Within the span of a single night, she was no longer his wife, but a slave who lived beside him!
Since she was not his wife anymore, she did not have t o do a wife's duties, right? Then why would she go to the old residence? What a joke!
After ending the call, Sabrina wrapped herself lazily into the blankets again. At that moment, Sebastian walked in. After he hung up on his father and was about to head in to check on Sabrina, his phone rang again. Even if he did not read the caller ID flashing on his screen, he knew it must be from Lori. 1
That woman! Her call came at just the right moment. O n the surface, she looked cold and unapproachable, but in actuality, she was not like that at all.
