"You... Jennie Gibson! Why are you calling me again? Call one more time and I will go straight to the police t o file a report for harassment!"
Sabrina stared blankly at her mother while Sebastian scowled.
However, Jennie was not at all enraged or agitated. Her tone remained calm as she said, "Gloria, I'm guessing that your daughter is pretending and lying to you that nothing has happened. But do you know how miserable she feels deep down? No, you don't! You can refuse to come if you don't care about your daughter at all."
Gloria immediately glanced over at Sabrina. She had not been paying much attention, but with closer inspection, she came to realize that her daughter's eyes were swollen, as though she had been crying for a long time.
"Harass me again and I'll call the police!" she warned before she hung up.
"Mom?" Sabrina looked frustrated. "Is Jennie Gibson causing you trouble?"
Gloria comforted her with a smile. "A person like her can only rely on her cousin and her uncle-in-law's power, but just how powerful could they be? They wouldn't dare to challenge Sebastian outrightly. Don't
worry, my sweet girl, Jennie wouldn't dare to do anything to me. Besides, even if it comes down to a fistfight, I can still beat her. Don't worry about me. Just enjoy your weekend at the old residence with Aino and Sebastian."
"Okay, Mom, thank you!" Sabrina grinned. She tried as best as she could to put on a mask of happiness without knowing that her mother was doing exactly the same thing.
However, Gloria was still over twenty years older than Sabrina and so her smile was sincere enough to convince Sabrina that it was real. Once Sabrina and Sebastian left for the old residence with Aino, Gloria immediately called Jennie.
"Jennie, what did you mean by what you said just now?" she questioned coldly.
Jennie chuckled smugly as though she had everything under control. "Gloria, do you know where your daughter is going for the party today?"
Gloria sneered. "Of course I do! My daughter is going to the old residence with her husband and their child. But what does that have to do with you, Jennie?"
"Haha! Gloria!" Jennie snorted. "A woman like you! An illegitimate child will always be an illegitimate child! It's no wonder that my uncle-in-law despises you so much. You are such a stubborn-minded person. Do you spend all day day-dreaming or something?"
Gloria did not know how to reply to her insults.
"Gloria! My Sean is holding all sorts of leverage over your daughter and my daughter has successfully put Sebastian under her spell. Besides, today's party isn't just about inviting your daughter. Her husband and their child went back to the old residence for a meal. Today's family gathering is something that my Sean has put together for me and my daughter! Not only will I be there, but so will my uncle-in-law. So, Gloria, i t shouldn't take much for you to figure out what your daughter will be going through today in the family gathering at the old Ford residence, right? My Sean is going to expose her for having an affair behind Master Sebastian's back, two at a time, too! Haha!"
"Why you!" Gloria was instantly enraged to the point that she started trembling. "Jennie Gibson, you are far too full of yourself!"
Jennie sneered. "I've reminded you, Gloria! I'm just giving you a gentle reminder as your bestie from the past-"
Before she could finish, Gloria had already hung up. "No!"
