Habitual thief?
Hana looked at her aunt. "Aunt Cecilia, are you a thief?"
Cecilia’s face was flustered when she saw the person who came. "Stefan, it seems that you knew I took the fifty thousand dollars in the house?"
Among the people who came looking for the old lady, the person in the forefront was Neo's eldest son, Stefan. He pointed at the old lady. “You shameless old woman with sticky fingers! You actually stole money from your own house! It's true that it's difficult to guard against a thief in the family! Listening to the way you speak, you're admitting that you stole my father's fifty thousand dollars?"
The old lady blushed but remained calm. "I took it. I didn't steal it. Indeed, I have taken the fifty thousand dollars from the house."
As soon as she said that, Hana looked at her with her eyes widened. "Aunt Cecilia, you...this kind of thing... how can you do such a thing? How can you be like this?"
Stefan sneered. "D*mned old woman! Even your niece i s criticizing you this way, what else do you have to say? Since you have admitted it yourself, do you want t o go to the police yourself or do you want me to call
them to arrest you now?”
Hearing about going to the police station, Hana instantly panicked. She grabbed Stefan’s hand and pleaded. "Don't, Don't, Sir, we...we'll pay back the money, alright?"
"No!” Stefan refused without hesitation.
"Then what do you say? As long as you don't send my aunt to prison. What do you say?” Hana asked Stefan.
Stefan took a side-long glance at the old lady, then said resentfully, "Let this old thing go back to take care of my father! My father is now lying in bed and unable to move after being betrayed by her! All this happened because of her. Let her take care of my father until he dies! Also, she can’t be sticky fingers during this period! She also has to take good care of m y father! Otherwise, I will call the police immediately. Fifty thousand dollars is not a small figure! You don't have to call, I'll call!”
The old lady spoke up at that moment. "When I took the fifty thousand dollars from the house, I never thought that I could escape from it. I initially thought that I had to be imprisoned. That's fine too. I'll call the police now. Also, when I call the police, I wonder if it’s considered breaking the law for a few of you tall and well-built men and women to trespass my niece's house?" The old lady looked calmly at the few people.
The leader, Stefan, was first stunned. He did not expect that the old lady would take the initiative to call the police. The purpose for him to go over that day actually was not entirely to ask for the fifty thousand dollars. It was indeed detestable for that d*mn old sticky fingers to take away the money in the house. What was more detestable was that ever since the old lady left their house, their father's life became a mess a s he lived alone. He did not know how to cook, and he also did not know how to do his own laundry. He continued living with a dirtied face and messy hair every day and he did not have a hot meal anymore. There was no one to prepare the foot bath at night for him, and wash and massage his leg anymore.
In less than a week, Neo fell ill. He had been having diarrhea continuously for several days, to the extent that his legs could not help him stand anymore. He had been directly admitted to the hospital. They only found out after asking him because there had been no one to cook for him for more than ten days, he had been ordering food delivery. He then got diarrhea because of the food and had lost a lot of weight. He could not stand up in a stable manner when he got off the bed to walk, so he could only sit in a wheelchair.
Not only was Neo sitting in a wheelchair, but he also needed someone to take care of him. He needed someone to take care of him all day long. His children had their own jobs and also children. Nobody could stay by their father's side twenty-four hours a day to take care of him. Even when a few of them took turns, i t was very troublesome. This was because the sons were willing to take turns, but their wives were not so willing.
