Moving away was simply just to avoid Stefan and his siblings from coming over again. Hana could tell that the main purpose for them coming over was not to let her aunt pay them back. Although it was not quite honorable for her aunt to take the fifty thousand dollars in the house, she truly did not break the law. Even if they were to go to the police, no one could say that she had stolen the money. The greatest purpose for them to find her aunt was to let her continue taking care of the old man.
Of course, her Aunt Cecilia would not leave with them. After ten years of hard work starting from when she was forty-six years old to the year she became fifty-six years old, her aunt was already incredibly old and gray. Those ten years of her life after being remarried had taken a toll on her aunt. She absolutely could not g o back anymore.
Hana was a very efficient person. They moved out within a day after she said they were moving away. However, after they had just settled in the new house, her Aunt Cecilia fell ill. They went to the hospital and only then did they find out that she had rheumatic heart disease which was caused by long term malnourishment, coupled with depression. Her aunt was sick for almost half a year, it had cost Hana quite a sum of her savings.
Cecilia did not agree to receive treatment. "Hana, I am
already old. It doesn't matter if I die. I don’t want to spend your money. You are having it hard on your own, my child!"
Hana hugged her aunt. "Aunt Cecilia, you’ll recover soon. You'll be fully recovered after taking a few more months of medicine! Be good. You must get well."
"Hana, I can't be a burden to you. You're still earning money to bring your daughter, Tessa, home. You're already working so hard and you still have to take care of me. How can I be alright with that?” said Aunt Cecilia with difficulty.
Hana smiled instead. "Aunt Cecilia, I don't have a mother growing up. You were the one taking care of m e when I was a child. If it weren’t for your care and help, I wouldn’t have made it past my sixteenth birthday, let alone getting married and having a child later on. Although Tessa is not willing to acknowledge me as her mother, she still is my daughter. As long as I have her, I have a goal and hope that I can look forward to. Don’t worry, Aunt Cecilia. Everything will b e better. You will be fully recovered in a few months.”
As Hana was insistent, the old lady then rested for another few months and finally recovered. However, just when she had recovered, the children from the Dixon family found them again. Obviously, after a year had passed, the Dixon family were well prepared when they found the old lady again. This time, they were not afraid of the old lady calling the police anymore.
Stefan even told the old lady directly, "You said you were a member of our family, so taking that money was not considered as stealing. Then let me tell you this, that sum of money was from before your marriage. After you and my father got married, all of his money was controlled by you. Old hag! I have ways to send you to prison! Everything could be clearly seen in the surveillance at our house. You had indeed stolen our money! Not only did you steal the money, but you were also a habitual thief! I have ways to let you rot in prison!" Stefan threatened the old lady.
The old lady had no choice but to ask helplessly, "Tell me. How much money do you want me to pay you? There's absolutely no way for you to let me go back and take care of your paralyzed father. Tell me how much do you want from me?"
"Tenfold! Five hundred thousand dollars!" said Stefan.
The old lady and Hana were both left speechless.
"Either pay us the five hundred thousand dollars or obediently return and remarry my father. I will give you some time to consider." Stefan brought his siblings along with him and left after saying that.
Since then, Stefan would come over from time to time.
