Tessa's hand was sore from slapping Hana. She shook her hand several times in annoyance. She raised her eyebrows and looked at Hana fiercely as if Hana was not her mother but just another woman who did all kinds of evil things.
Tessa did not shy away from cursing in front of so many people. "Hana Sharpe! You shameless woman! How shameless you must be? Slapping your face is already going easy on you! I slap your face to let you know you are a shameless thing! Hana Sharpe, you have to remember this! You are not my mother. You're never going to be my mother! Not for the rest of your life! Also, you want me to return the money to that castrated man? Yet, you said that you're not thinking o f that castrated man? If you're not thinking of him, then why do you want me to return the money to him? Even the castrated man himself did not ask me to return the money to him, but you came running over t o order me to pay him back?
Tessa spat. "Hana Sharpe, who are you to him? Who are you to me? Who are you to order me around? My dad was right! You are a sl*t! The number one sl*t in a thousand years! You would rush to spread your legs whenever you see a man! You did not even spare my boyfriend. Hana, you're truly a shameless b*tch! It's all good now! He is a castrated man! Did you hear that? You would be a grass widow who is unable to have
consummation if you marry him! If you are still thinking of getting together with that man now, then I have to give my respect to you instead. Hana Sharpe! G o on! Go be with him! He is a billionaire!"
Tessa cursed at her own mother so fiercely that she was foaming from both corners of her lips. At that moment, her shrewish appearance had been fully uncovered without any mistake. Zayn, who was not far away and was watching everything, felt that Tessa was even worse than Ruth. It was just that Tessa was smarter than Ruth, and she was better than Ruth in hiding her real self.
In comparison, Hana was just different. She sat on the ground without moving. She covered her swollen face and looked at Tessa in disbelief. The same words were still coming out of her mouth, but it was clearer and more hopeless than before. "Tessa, you actually... slapped me? I had given birth to you after carrying you in my belly for ten months. I was malnourished when I was pregnant with you, so you were only three kilograms when you were born. I did not produce enough breast milk after giving birth to you, so I had t o beg for food from the people hosting a banquet. I ate a lot every day just for the sake of feeding you milk. For the sake of letting you have a childhood free from poverty and hardships, I carried you on my back and worked everywhere a month after I had given birth to you. Yet, you slap me in the face now? You actually slapped your mother's face?" 1
At that moment, Hana was feeling beyond despair.
The person she cared for and worried about the most i n this world was her own daughter. She never would have expected that her daughter would treat her this way. Her daughter would actually slap her. That kind o f despair made Hana instantly lose her will to survive. All of her hopes were smashed into smithereens. She sat on the ground in a daze and raised her head to look at Tessa in bewilderment.
Tessa was still cursing her. Then, she saw Zayn walking over. Tessa was very surprised that Zayn would come. She immediately switched her expression. She looked at Zayn with a very uneasy expression. "You...have you been bewitched by this shameless woman? She's the one who told you to come and ask me for the money, isn't she? Zayn Smith! I have dated you for more than two months! You’re already in your thirties, but I am only in my early twenties! Did I date you for nothing?"
Tessa looked at Zayn, as she cried. Zayn looked coldly at Tessa, but he did not answer her. Instead, he walked step by step to the front of Hana. He then bent over and helped Hana up.
Hana was stunned for a moment. "Mister...mister Smith?” "You should first get up," Zayn said gently.
