Hana looked at Hector with a pleading gaze. "I'm begging you, don't treat our daughter like this! She is your most beloved, isn't she?"
Hector sneered. “Of course! She is my life! She is my daughter. Her last name is Laven! She is not yours! You b*tch! Listen up! Go work as a laborer abroad.
Come back five years later after having earned enough money for both me and my daughter to spend. I have already asked on your behalf. You can earn two hundred thousand dollars in a year! Five years later, come back when you’ve made a million dollars! Otherwise..."
"Alright...alright. Fine, I will go work abroad. It's just five years, right? If something bad were to happen to m y daughter five years later when I come back, I will kill you by biting you to death if I had to, Hector!"
Since then, Hana was sent abroad to work as a laborer. The contract that she signed was not for five years, but it was for eight years. This was because she wanted to keep a portion of the money to herself so that she could lose Hector and fight for the custody of her daughter.
After she had earned a million dollars in eight years, she even had a private savings of three hundred thousand dollars in her hand. She had originally planned to first return to the country, rent a house,
and find a job, then only bring her daughter over to live together with her. She truly missed her daughter. However, as she had been working hard for a long time, she missed her daughter very much, and she did not have a proper rest after she had given birth, Hana fell severely ill once she returned from abroad. She was ill for more than half a year. When Hana's condition gradually improved, another year had already gone by.
Throughout the year when Hana was ill, she had been missing her daughter day and night and wondered how her daughter grew up to look. She should be a big girl already, right? Finally, on the day her seventeen year old daughter took the college entrance test, Hana saw her outside of the exam hall. After not seeing her daughter for so many years, her daughter had truly grown into a slender and elegant young lady just as Hana had expected. Her daughter was truly beautiful. She was more beautiful than her mother.
Just as Hana wanted to go forward to meet her daughter again, Hana was dragged away by Hector coldly. "Hana Sharpe! I'm warning you! Today is the day my daughter takes her college entrance test. This i s a particularly important day in her life. If you dared t o make her emotionally unstable at this moment, I will sue you for harassment and send you to prison!"
Hana had not seen Hector for almost nine years, but h e did not seem to look older. He was very particular with the clothes he wore and gave others a very decent feeling. Tessa, on the other hand, was very
stylishly dressed. Tessa was beaming with a smile, but Hana was covered in tears when she saw her. Hector was right. She could not disturb her daughter a t that moment. She must let her daughter do well in the test so she could be eligible for a good college.
Hana waited miserably for another three days. During those three days when the test was ongoing, she had been watching far away from the entrance of the hall a s Hector dropped Tessa off at the exam hall. Tessa would confidently say goodbye to her father every time before she entered the exam hall. "Don’t worry, Dad! I will definitely get into one of the top colleges! I will make you proud!" 1
Hearing such words, Hector would instantly burst into tears. He looked just like a loving father. Hana, who had been watching everything from the side, was covered in tears and feeling uneasy. Did her daughter still know that she was her mother? Tessa did not seem to have any sense of depression from losing her mother. Hector did very well on that. Hana felt comfort in her heart. Her daughter certainly would have grown into a sensible young lady. She certainly would acknowledge Hana as her mother, who had been working extremely hard.
Three days have passed and the test was over. Hana was waiting impatiently. As soon as Tessa left the school, Hana rushed forward. “Tessa, Tessa, you're already of age to take the college entrance test, my baby girl. I...I am your mother!"
Tessa’s expression suddenly became angry. "Who are you? I don't know you. Get lost!"
