Eira nodded in tears. From then on, whenever she saw someone having some snacks, she only watched and drooled. She had never snatched anything away from others anymore.
Her brother forbade her from stealing. If she were to steal, her brother would break her legs. She kept thinking about that throughout her whole journey home. She arrived home silently while she was thinking of that. When she got home, she saw her mother curling on the edge of the bed.
"Mom, Mom, what happened to you?" asked Eira, rushing forward.
"Eira, I can't earn money anymore. Our little wooden shed is gone. I can't buy a down jacket for you anymore. You'll freeze." Eira's mother hugged her and squeezed her very tightly.
Eira was in pain from being squeezed by her mother, but she did not move. She did not resist and did not escape. She knew her mother cared for her. Her mother, who had originally recovered, had a relapse because she had lost her small wooden shed due to the demolition of their neighborhood. Also, the medication at home was going to run out soon. Eira did not want to let her mother be admitted into a psychiatric hospital. If that were to happen, not only would have lost her father, but she would have even lost her mother. She did not know how long she was being hugged by her mother, but she just let her hug her like that. It was not until her mother was tired and had fallen asleep that Eira broke free from her mother’s arms. She did not say a word. She just quietly covered her mother with a blanket, and then she silently went out on her own. She did not hesitate and did not look back. Instead, she got on a bus and went to the mansion her father was at.
Eira had been to the mansion her father was staying a t a few times. When she was younger, it was her mother who brought her there. However, they always watched from afar, and her mother said to her, "The woman staying here was the vixen who seduced and took your father away."
Every time they had been there, her mother had always cursed outside that mansion for a very long time. Later on, when Eira missed her father, her brother was the one who sent her over and she practically had always just glanced at her father.
Therefore, she had been to her father's mansion many times, but Eira had never gone in before. She did not know what the interior of the mansion looked like.
She squatted in the small bushes outside of the mansion like a tiny stray cat and just crouched there t o wait. She was not in a rush to get home. That was because her brother was only able to go home around ten at night when there were no more customers in the restaurant. Therefore, nobody would be worrying whether she had returned home or not at that hour.
She just quietly waited there like that. 1
It was not until seven in the evening that a car finally slowly drove over outside of the mansion. When the car arrived outside the entrance of the mansion, it parked at a dedicated parking spot. The car door opened, and the first person who got out of it was a chirping and incomparably joyful little princess. The little princess was wearing bright red clothes and it was incredibly glaring.
"Dad, was my dance performance today good?"
"It's especially good. Our Brooke is the prettiest little princess," praised Delmont.
"Then, what reward are you giving today?" asked Brooke.
"Well...when you get home, I will give you a surprise," Delmont said.
"Alright!"
The family of three was just about to open the door when a ball of something suddenly rushed out in front of them. Brooked was frightened. "Ah! What is this thing? It seemed like a big rat."
It was not until she was done shouting that she saw that it was a girl who was slightly taller than her. "Why is it you again?" asked Brooke very unhappily.
