Eira never expected that Delmont would say such a thing to her. The tears that she had forcefully held back instantly streamed down her cheeks at that moment. She stood in front of Delmont like that and called him dad with a lump in her throat. Eira truly wanted to hug Delmont, but she did not dare to. She just stood on the spot and cried until her face was covered in tears. Looking at the way she was, Delmont raised his hand and gently wiped the tears off her face. After that, for the first time ever, he reached out his arms and put this daughter of his in his arms. All the suppressed emotions that Eira had finally could n o longer be suppressed any longer at that moment. She curled in Delmont's arms and burst out crying. " Dad, Dad, I really miss you very much. I truly miss you very much..."
When Delmont saw the way Eira looked at that moment, other than to let out a heavy sigh, he did not know what to do for a moment there. He had spent too little time with this daughter, so much so that he unexpectedly was a little confused about how he should interact with her. It was not until Eira was done crying that Delmont only looked at Eira. "Eira, let's go. While the mall is still not closed yet, I'll take you to buy some clothes, alright?"
When Eira heard what Delmont said, her eyes lit up.
Eira originally wanted to ask Delmont to buy new
clothes for her brother. However, whenever she mentioned that in the past, Delmont would tell her that he had no obligation to raise her brother, so Eira did not dare to bring it up anymore. She just thought that after Delmont had bought her some new clothes, she would not wear them. Instead, she would sell them off and the money should be enough for her to buy a cheaper down jacket for her brother. This way, her brother would no longer need to suffer in the cold. Thinking of that, Eira immediately nodded obediently.
"Dad, I'll go cover the blanket on Mom. I'll be right out."
While saying that, Eira walked quickly to the side of Eirwen, and then stuffed the small golden pendant into Eirwen's hand in the blanket. Only then did Eira turn around and followed Delmont out the door.
She walked on the street, holding Delmont's large hand, and she was all smiles. She truly had not smiled so happily for a very long time. It had always been Eira's dream to be able to hold her father's hand like that. She just never expected that such a dream would actually come true one day. Eira was truly happy, but i n comparison to her, Delmont appeared to be very uneasy.
He was dressed in a sharp and expensive suit, but the child he was holding in his hands was dressed in tattered clothes, so it was only natural that many people cast their gaze on them throughout the whole journey. Some of them were curious, some were shocked, and some were disdainful. Every kind of stare made Delmont extremely uneasy. If he did not have to coax Eira at that moment, Delmont truly did not want to hold her hand and be seen with her in the crowded streets like that. However, once he thought of his goal, Delmont still suppressed that weird feeling from the bottom of his heart and brought Eira to the nearest mall.
"Eira, you pick. As long as it's something you like, I'll buy them for you, alright?"
When the worker heard what Delmont said, she felt that a huge customer had come in. Therefore, she did not care about the fact that Eira was still wearing tattered clothes. "Little beauty, your father is really good to you. Look at these clothes. Do you like them? These are the latest arrivals in our store."
Eira looked at those clothes and secretly picked up the price tag to glance at them.
When Delmont saw the little motion of her hand, he said gently, "If you like it, buy it. Don’t worry about the price."
When the worker heard that, she could not help but be enthusiastic. She took Eira around the store and selected a few pretty clothes for her. If Eira had not kept on saying that she had had enough, the worker would have loved to let her try on all the new arrivals i n the store.
After Delmont had paid for the clothes, he looked at Eira and said, "Eira, your Aunt Joy has to be at the hospital to accompany Brooke today. I'll be home alone. Is it alright if you keep me accompanied
instead?"
