Although Yvonne was afraid of marriage, she was happiest among the few girls. Since childhood, Yvonne was loved by both her father and mother, and even her uncle, aunt, and cousin also loved her very much. Yvonne had never suffered any grievances and hardship growing up. She grew up like a sweet girl in her family.
Her relationship with Marcus was the only thing that made her feel pressured. The pressure she felt came from Old Master Shaw. It was because she had witnessed how Old Master Shaw had treated Sabrina very harshly that Yvonne felt greatly terrified of Old Master Shaw. As time went by, even Old Master Shaw felt her fear for him.
At one point, Old Master Shaw took the initiative to ask Yvonne, "My child, you have always been like a chirpy little sparrow. Why is it that every time you see me, you'll turn to someone who doesn't utter a single word? Are you afraid of me?"
Yvonne immediately nodded. "Mm-hmm." After that, she shook her head again. "No, no, no, it's not like that"
"You and Marcus have been in a relationship for two years, and yet, you never got married. Is it because of me?" Old Master Shaw was not a fool. He was able to figure everything out.
Yvonne was speechless.
"I will not stop your wedding anymore, my child," Old Master Shaw said very gently.
Yvonne absolutely could not believe it. She was so scared that she was at a loss for words.
"I know that you're afraid of me. In fact, I have a way t o let you not be afraid of me," said Old Master Shaw.
"Wh-Wh-What's the way?" Yvonne stuttered.
"The way is for me to be dead," said Old Master Shaw.
