Since it was a meeting for the contract, there certainly was going to be a battle for the interests between the two parties. In fact, however, for such meetings when the contract was already about to be finalized, everything had actually already been negotiated by both parties before they got to the room. Both parties were just having a discussion at that meeting as a matter of routine. This was particularly so when the opposite party was a multinational company like the White Group.
However, the group of high-ranking executives from the White Group who came to negotiate with the Ford Group still wanted to take on the dominant position in this contract. Not to mention, the young lady of the White Group was also present that day, so they wanted to showcase their competency even more.
The few high-ranking executives unanimously showed off in the meeting by saying that they were going to give up a share of the profit for the Ford Group. They also mentioned that even though many companies wanted to do business with them, they still gave priority to the Ford Group and selected them in the end. Misty was also very pleased when she heard those remarks. She then looked at Sebastian while smiling with a sense of superiority.
However, never would Misty expect that Sebastian would say coldly, "If your company feels that this will decrease your profits margin, then we can just not collaborate. As for all the expenses your high-ranking executives had spent to and fro, my company will bear them all. If your company still feels that there are any losses, feel free to bring it u p. My company will pay for all the compensations."
Once he said that, everyone from the opposite party was stunned. The people from the Ford Group, however, had no reaction at all. They knew their own director the best. No matter if i t was giving a project to some other company or taking a project from another company, the Ford Group had always been taking on the dominant position. No company had ever beat around the bush like that to put pressure on their director. Besides, the person leading the other company in that meeting that day was a woman. It was not that the Ford Group's director looked down on women. It was quite the opposite. He respected women the most. Perhaps it was because of this respect that he would cut straight to the chase and not give the other party any chance.
"Sebastian Ford, what are you playing at?
Aren't you making a fool of us by doing this? W e came all the way here!" At that moment, Misty was really anxious, and she stood up immediately.
Sebastian did not even take another look at Misty. He simply tidied up his suits and then walked out of the room.
"Sebastian Ford! Stop right there! Don't you forget that we are the ones giving you the business!" Misty stomped her foot. She was s o resentful that her face became red.
Misty mostly also had a sense of defeat. That was a man she admired. How could the discussion be over before she even started to officially make a deal with him? She had even made up her mind to let him have two percent more of the profits!
Sebastian stopped in his tracks, turned his head around. 'I'm sorry, Miss White. This is what's going on. Our company would never force someone else to do anything against their will. Your subordinates had repeatedly indicated that your company is the one who is giving this business to us and it's your company who is going to give up a share of the profits. I think your company has forgotten one of the most principal things. The collaboration between two companies is to achieve a win-win situation, and there is no such thing as whichever party surrendering parts of the profits to the other party. Once this problem like this existed, then the scale
for the collaboration would be imbalanced. Miss White, if the benefits of our collaboration are imbalanced, could both parties still continue collaborating with each other?"
Misty was speechless.
She did not expect that Sebastian would actually be so iron-willed. He had hogged the project from her company, but he also never allowed her to have the slightest sense of superiority at all. However, Sebastian was right. That was how it should be. Since both parties were collaborating, then it should be a win-win situation. There would not be such a thing as which party taking care of the other o r which party surrendering part of the profit to the other.
Misty instantly calmed down, and then her expression changed to a gentle smile. 'Mister Ford, Sebastian, I'm sorry. It's our fault. Please give us a second chance, alright? Other than the Ford Group, that could complete such a project with flying colors, we truly can't find another company as strong as yours anymore.
Only then did Sebastian sit down and say without batting an eye, "Alright!"
Who would be willing to give up the opportunity to make a lot of money?
After the contract was signed with everyone being happy, Misty was in a very good mood, s o she asked Sebastian out alone. "Mister Ford, congratulations on the success of our collaboration. How about the two of us go somewhere to have a drink?"
"No, I have to go home and be with my wife," said Sebastian.
