Chloe thought that she had misheard it. "W h-what did you say?"
Old Master Shaw did not look at Chloe again, but he looked at Gloria. "Gloria, tell m e what exactly is going on. Why would they take you as a criminal and even call the police?"
Before Gloria answered him, two police officers said, "Old Master Shaw, it’s a misunderstanding. It's probably just a misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding?" Old Master Shaw looked at the Payne sister. "I think someone is deliberately causing disruptions! They are even deliberately wasting the resources of the police!"
The Payne sisters were speechless.
"Gloria, tell me! I will back you up!" Old Master Shaw finally found a chance to improve his relationship with his daughter, so of course, he was not going to let it go. He then looked at Gloria gently.
However, Gloria said, "You're already so old and it's inconvenient for your to walk anymore. In the future, stop coming over if there is no need for it. Everything is fine on my end. I can take care of myself. Besides, I'm already over fifty. I'm not a child anymore. I know what I am doing. You don't have to be worried about me."
Although she did not directly order him to leave, her words still gave him a sense that she was keeping him at arm's length.
Gloria's expression was calm and old. It was nothing out of the ordinary at first.
However, in comparison to the incomparably dignified and mighty Old
Master Shaw, her elegance, coldness, and arrogance were made even more obvious.
The Payne sisters, especially the youngest sister, Abigail, were simply stunned by what they saw. Abigail looked at Gloria and stuttered, "You're n-not..."
