Both the mother and daughter had yet to really set foot in the Shaw Residence.
When they came to the solemn and mighty mansion, Gloria instantly stopped in her tracks.
"Mom." Sabrina raised her arm and wrapped it around her mother's shoulder.
Gloria looked at her daughter. "I am afraid. Do you know that?"
Sabrina nodded. "I know."
"That is a kind of fear that had been etched in my heart and could never be erased for life." Once Gloria approached the entrance of the mansion, she was reminded of how she was standing outside of this huge mansion and was chased out of the house by her classmate, Jennie Gibson, who was an incomparable noble little princess wearing a princess gown.
There was also ...her own brother as well. They were half-siblings, but he was still her brother. Until that moment, Gloria was unable to forget being kicked by her brother and landing a few meters away. After Gloria was kicked that time, she was bedridden at home for a very long time and was vomiting blood every day. Her mother was so frightened that she cried at Gloria's bedside every day. She was afraid that Gloria would die from being kicked. Her brother was still calling Gloria very loving at that moment, but Gloria was able to see that kind of guilt on his face. However, no matter how guilty he felt, what can that make up? Could that turn back time and stop the whole incident from happening?
Nobody knew that regardless if it was something she should and should not have endured or if it was something she could or could not be enduring at that tender age in her childhood, Gloria had endured it all. Nobody would take responsibility for her childhood. She only had one childhood. Jennie had such a happy childhood, was pampered by so many, and was loved by her aunt and uncle, as well as her cousin, but what about Gloria? She had a biological father, who was a powerful man, and also a biological brother, but these were the nightmare of her childhood. At that moment, they had let her return to the environment that was her nightmare. That was simply torturing for Gloria.
"Mom, if you really don’t want to go in, then just don't. The worst-case was being criticized for not being a caring daughter and for being a petty person who wouldn't forgive others. It doesn't matter. I'll be by your side. It's fine as long as you are happy.
Don’t torture yourself," Sabrina said to her mother.
Gloria shook her head. "Forget it. He is about to die. I'll just endure it. I can overcome this. What about you, Sabrina? If you don't want to go in, I won't force you. You may just go back, my child."
