The five or six-year-old child did not look at Vincent. He just looked venomously at the police officer and said, "This is my dad! He doesn’t care about me and has never seen me. But I have seen my dad. He divorced my mom so he doesn't want me anymore. He married his mistress." Comment by abigail moh: continuity issue? last chapter was 6 or 7.1 just translated the raw... Not sure what’s right
Vincent was speechless. Only at that moment could he finally see clearly that the child before him looked a lot like his mother. He had not seen this child in over two years. The child had grown really quickly and changed a lot. He could barely recognize him.
"Is your mother Belinda Kelley?" asked
Vincent.
"You're an evil daddy. I will always remember you. I hate you. I will get my revenge!" The boy gritted his teeth as he looked at Vincent.
Vincent ignored the boy's curses. He merely asked sternly, "Where is your mother? Why isn’t she watching after you?!"
As soon as he finished his sentence, the police officer snapped at him. "You’re a very interesting man. You couldn't even recognize your own son and even dropped him off at the police station. I can’t believe that there's a father as irresponsible as you in the world. You’re even pretending to be a do-gooder! I'm telling you, it’s illegal to abandon your child!"
Vincent spluttered, "I... I’m not..." "You're not what? What is it? Go ahead! If you can't explain yourself, forget about leaving the station!"
Vincent did not want to say it initially, especially in front of the child. After all, the child is innocent. Not to mention, the child ended up like this because of his mother’s teachings. It was a great torment. However, if Vincent did not say anything, he would not be able to leave the police station.
Hence, he was forced to spill everything about what happened between him, Helena, and Belinda. At the very end, he stressed "When the court granted us the divorce, I took a paternity test. His mother cheated on me and I had proof of it. I couldn't take it anymore. That's why we got a divorce."
