Eevonne smiled. "That's right. I finally resigned. However, my resignation was not decent at all. I was thrown out of the company."
"What?" Kingston asked.
"Because I often had arguments with my colleagues, everybody in the company looked down on me. Whenever I argued with someone, it would always be my fault. However, Kingston, when I argued with the other person on the following day, I had actually already endured it for a very long time. Do you believe me?"
Before Kingston answered, Eevonne smiled. "You certainly won't believe me. Nobody would." "I believe you!" Kingston answered firmly. "As the saying goes, once a man is down, people will take advantage of the situation to attack him. That is an old saying. You wanted to work in that company to earn your salary. Even if it was just because of your vanity, you did not want to leave that place at all. Since you wanted to keep that job so much, of course, you would want to suffer in silence to let the matter pass. If it wasn't because you’ve already reached your limit of endurance, you wouldn't have argued with them, right?"
Tears instantly streamed down Eevonne's cheeks. "Kingston, till this day, whether I brought up the matter of my frequent arguments with the people in the company to my childhood friends or my online friends, everyone would think that it's my fault. They would think that it's because I have a bad temper. They would think that I'm a person who loves to find fault with others and is extremely sensitive. My mom, all of my relatives, and the boyfriends that others had introduced to me included. All of them think that I am morally corrupt and a person who is extremely terrible in all aspects."
Kingston was speechless.
In fact, when he heard Eevonne talk about this, Kingson was thinking in his mind about what exactly had this girl gone through. He felt so heartbroken as if it was his own sister who had suffered the grievances.
"I believe you!" he said again with emphasis.
"Are you comforting me, Kingston?" Eevonne asked with tears in her eyes.
Kingston shook his head. "Eevonne, you may not even realize it yourself how kind of a girl you are. You’ve told me all about these. Since the beginning, you've never said to me extremely subjectively that it was all those people's fault and you were not at fault. You have recounted so much of your past to me, and you had been incomparably objective when you were telling me those matters in the past. You've already told me many times that you actually don't blame them. That shows that you are constantly reviewing your flaws. You are able to clearly recognize your own flaws, and feel guilty about them. This in itself is already your strength. There are so many people in this world who did not want and had never been willing to recognize their flaws even when they were already moments before dying. Eevonne, every human in this world would have flaws. Your so-called vanity, cowardice, agitation, and inferiority while being arrogant are all your flaws. However, under the circumstances when you had all these flaws and had suffered such great ostracism because of these flaws, so much so that even your mother and your relatives beat you up in public, and after you've experienced all that, you still have the purest kindness. You still were able to risk your life to save mine in an emergency. What does that mean? That means you’re a kind and righteous girl."
"Kingston..." Eevonne sobbed and smiled. " Kingston, how great would it be if you were there in that company that I was working for back then?"
