"The reason she didn't divorce him was that they had my brother and me. Which meant that both of us are a burden to her. She has been instilling this idea in us since childhood. She let my brother and I feel deep down that we are redundant. She had been instilling such ideas in us from a very young age. After we slowly grew up, my brother and I felt that my mother should be loving her niece and nephews, and both of us were just sinners in front of them. My brother and I had never been able to hold up our heads in front of those relatives at all. We've always been inferior to others. No matter what, my aunts would still support their children and let them study more. But what about my brother and me? We could barely afford to pay for education since elementary school. We still couldn't afford to study when we were in middle school. We had just learned to read a few words, but we had to drop out. How could my brother and I have great capabilities? My so-called capabilities, the decent job in the big city, including my so-called boyfriend were things that I pretended to have, which basically crumbled in a single blow. Now that I've been exposed, of course, my mother would be very furious. She wanted to last out, but the doctor told her that she can't get angry because of her condition. Otherwise, she would have lashed out a long time ago. I, on the other hand, also have a lot of pent-up anger, and I also wanted to lash out a long time ago. Therefore, when my cousins came to our house and wanted to take the house away, my mother and I finally burst out in anger. We then fought aggressively."
Kingston could not help but ask, "Could it be that your mother also agreed to give the house to your uncle's family?"
Eevonne cried. "Yes. Not only did she ask me to give the house to my uncle, but she also asked me to return my uncle the money that I have worked my ass off for three years to save as well. That was the thirty thousand dollars that I had prepared to return to my uncle after saving up and delaying the repayment of my credit card debt. My mother's intention was that the house has to be given to my uncle but the money also has to be given to him."
Kingston was so angry that he suddenly slammed the table. "Is she trying to have you cornered? How could there be such a mother?"
Eevonne sighed. "You and my father have the same expression and action. My father's reaction was like that as well at that time." "I hardly hear you mentioning your father," Kingston said.
Eevonne smiled helplessly. "In comparison to my mother, I truly hated my father even more. My mother only thinks that we're a burden to her, but at least she would still cook for my brother and me. She was just too close to her family and she looked down on us. My father, on the other hand, thinks highly of my brother and me. However, as a man, he had never been thinking of how to make money to support his family. Instead, he just kept thinking about how he could bring something back from my grandmother’s house and my uncle's house. That was my father's life. He was such a coward that anybody could bully him. However, he also has his little schemes. He was thinking that since they looked down on him no matter what anyway, the more he can take from them, the merrier. He has never thought that what he owed has to be paid back eventually. He also had never thought about how my brother and I pulled through since childhood. However, one thing is that my father is very gentle to my brother and me. He had never beaten or scolded us. In terms of love, my father loves us a little more than my mother.
Therefore, whenever my brother and I got a little angry, we would lash out at my father. This was the first time I fought with my mother."
Kingston was stunned. "Did you question your mother like that?"
