Her request stunned Sabrina and Ruth. Both of them looked at each other.
Eevonne, however, said in a hurry, "I know you must be surprised. However, I have witnessed with my own eyes how lost and confused Kingston was when searching for his cousin. I was thinking that there must be a reason for Kingston to leave all the business affairs behind and not stay in the company but spend most of his time searching for his cousin. That reason must be that Yvonne's parents miss their daughter very much."
Sabrina sighed. "That's true."
"I'll just do whatever I can within my abilities. That way, Kingston’s efforts would not be in vain after he went to such lengths to help me," Eevonne said sincerely.
Sabrina nodded. "Alright. After you've settled down, I’ll take you to Yvonne's house. Ruth and I will go over every now and then anyway. We'll bring you along when we are heading there."
"Mm-hmm!" Eevonne nodded heavily.
From that day on, Eevonne's new life has begun. She kept acting according to her plan. The following day after she parted with Sabrina and Ruth, Eevonne went to the Ford Group to report to work.
The job that Sabrina mentioned was the most entry-level job in the Ford Group.
Sabrina had discussed with Kingston back then, and the reason they let Eevonne go to the Ford Group was that it was a very big corporate group. It has all sorts of departments there. If Eevonne did well in the future, she might catch the eye of some department head or manager, and it would not be too late for her to get promoted then. If they were to send Eevonne to an ideal place at the very beginning, what should they do if she could not endure the misery of holding a high-level position again?
Also, Eevonne actually did have some hard skills. The Ford Group also has the department that she used to work in at her previous company back then. As long as Eevonne worked hard and not be idle, there would come a day when her hard skills could be applied again. When the time came, if she was personally promoted by the department head or manager, and she truly has the ability, then the company could not care if she has a college diploma or not. At that moment, Eevonne had just joined the company and her highest level of education was middle school, so she could only work the most entry-level job. That was good as well. It would be a type of training for Eevonne.
Even though that was the most entry-level job that can be done by anybody, Eevonnes position was not easy to fill. The Ford Group was such a huge corporate group, but the people who held the position kept changing. They just could not find a suitable candidate. It was too exhausting, too messy, and the person would have to be yelled at by others everywhere. For example, when she pushed a small trolley full of parcels and delivered them to a certain department with great effort, even if her performance was a little less than satisfactory, she might be lectured by the people of that department. That was just a common occurrence. The Ford Group was so large and had tens of thousands of staff, so she would encounter anything under the sun. Eevonne was truly exhausted after reporting to work on her first day.
When she saw the huge pile of parcels in the mailroom next to the security room, Eevonne almost had a headache from annoyance. However, after only a minute, she calmed down. It was not easy for her to get a job. Besides, the pay that the Ford Group was paying her was very high.
Before she had the time to think about it carefully, she started to bury herself in that pile of parcels and put them into groups. There was a difference between Eevonne and the previous staff. The majority of the staff that was recruited for this position in the past were older men and women.
Which youngster would want to do this kind of work?
However, things were different this time. Eevonne was very young. Not only that but she was indeed very intelligent. She had done quite a number of questionable things in the past, but she has a sharp mind. After she squatted and looked at these parcels for only about half an hour, she figured out a clue.
Just when she was about to start dividing the parcels into groups, the doorman came to Eevonne. "Don't worry. It just so happens that these couple of days are the transition period. It'll usually take at least four people to manage the parcels here. Think about it, there are so many departments upstairs, how can a single person manage them all?"
