Marcus looked quietly at the fake Yvonne. "I can't, dear."
The fake Yvonne asked, "Wh-... Why?"
Could it be that she has done something wrong and made him realize that she was fake? That was impossible. She did not make any mistakes.
"There was a year when I went out to look for you, I fell into a valley and I accidentally got a kind of skin disease that was hard to treat. It was just a while ago that I was cured by a doctor. The doctor asked me to take medication to stabilize it for a year. During this time, I can't sleep with anybody, can't have any spicy food, and can't take any alcohol. If I sleep with you, I'll transmit the disease to you," Marcus said like it was true.
The fake Yvonne immediately stopped crying and smiled, and then she cried again. "Marcus, how much exactly have you suffered for my sake?"
"None of that's important. What's important is that you're back now, right?"
"Mm-hmm. Marcus!" The fake Yvonne closed her eyes emotionally and rested her head on Marcus' shoulder.
"Go to bed," Marcus coaxed her, "I'll stay here and watch you sleep."
"Alright, dear." The fake Yvonne was incomparably excited. She felt that she had finally got hold of happiness in this life.
Marcus said he would watch her sleep for the whole night, and he really did.
When she woke up the following morning, he was sitting by the bed.
It was after he watched her wake up that he took her to have breakfast together. After they finished their breakfast, he even made a special arrangement for her to recuperate at home. He would come home to see her after he finished handling his business at the company.
"Go on, dear, I'll stay at home." The fake Yvonne was extremely happy.
Marcus also headed out his face filled with happiness.
It was until he got in his car that his face was slowly covered with sorrow.
As soon as he drove out, Marcus called the most meticulous housekeeper at home. "Hey! You have to pay close attention and not let the young lady harm the two children. However, you have to be discrete and you can't let anybody notice! Be sure to keep that in mind!"
After he ended the call, Marcus leaned his head against the back of the seat. Nobody knew what he was thinking.
