"Why...why don't you want to work there anymore?" Ryan asked Sabrina in confusion.
She didn’t feel like explaining herself. Right when Ryan was planning to call the company to enquire about this matter, Sabrina’s phone rang again. She took a look at the screen. Unexpectedly, it was the design director who sent her home to take a break. 1
She answered coldly, "I’m sorry director, I'm at my new job now. Is there anything you would like to say? Please make it quick."
On the other side of the phone, the design director said pleasingly, "Sabrina, I didn’t mean for you to quit. I just asked you to go home to hide it for a while. Miss Ruth has recovered from her injuries and is back at work now. She’s not angry anymore. So only now do I dare to call you and ask you to come back."
Sabrina frowned. "Is that true?"
The director was helpless too.
She hoped Sabrina would quit too. As the design director, she didn't want any trouble, but she never expected Ruth would ask for Sabrina the moment she recovered and returned to work. Anyone with eyes could tell Ruth wanted to seek revenge against Sabrina. But who dared go against Ruth Mann? Anyone who wanted to work here had to obey her.
So the director had no choice but to call Sabrina. "Of course it's true! I wouldn't lie to you about something like this!"
Sabrina didn't seem convinced. "Ruth really doesn't blame me anymore?" 1
"Miss Mann is over it now," the director answered.
"Ohm, alright,” Sabrina replied, "I'll come to work tomorrow then."
