Right at that moment, Sabrina appeared in front of Ruth.
Sabrina looked at her, her expression dark. She asked her coldly, "Ruth Mann, what do you think you're doing!”
Ruth ignored her colleagues' laughter and smiled coldly at Sabrina. "Sabrina! You think just because you hid away from me for a week, I would have forgiven you! You are the reason I got hurt in the first place! You pushed the car behind me, then purposely induced me to sit on it. You got me injured, I had to stay in the hospital for two days. You could go to jail for what you did! 1
Sabrina snapped. "Then sue me!"
Ruth shouted, "You think I don’t dare to?” 1
She changed her tone suddenly, whining and pouting. "Ryan, you're here, perfect! You weren't in South City last week, so you wouldn’t know what happened! Sabrina is a murderer, she almost killed me! She pushed a chair to my table, then intentionally made m e sit on it. Now my...my buttocks are all scarred and ruined!"
Ryan looked at Ruth, a look of disgust on his face and scoffed.
"Ryan, how can you even laugh!" Ruth whined and
continued, "She's a shameless and despicable woman! She seduced my brother-in-law with such devious methods. I heard from my cousin that she used all the dirty tricks imaginable. You have been bewitched by her, Ryan! She’s an ugly, evil woman!”
Ryan couldn’t take it anymore. "I don’t know whether Sabrina is ugly or not, but right now, you're repugnant! The ugliest woman in the whole wide world! How can there be a woman like you in the company, what an embarrassment! Master Shaw brought you in, didn’t h e? Master Shaw is out of town these few days to treat his grandfather's illness, so I won't inform him. I'll be the bad guy and fire you right now! Get out right now!”
Ruth was stunned, standing still for a few moments. Then, she burst into tears. "Ryan..."
"Don't address me so intimately! Get out!" Ryan looked mad and Ruth didn't even dare to cry anymore.
Outside the conference room, someone reminded her kindly. "Miss Ruth, look at yourself. Your face is filthy."
Ruth didn't care about begging Ryan for mercy, or harming Sabrina anymore. She took out her phone and looked at her reflection. She paused, stunned, then shouted, “There's a ghost...”
The image on her phone screen was obviously a reflection of herself. When she saw Sabrina and Ryan i n the car together, she had burst into tears, crying all the way in the elevators. Her makeup melted completely.
Ruth’s makeup was always thick and glamorous, and she didn't have much money to spend on high quality, water-proof makeup. All the products she used were cheap and brightly-colored. Her eyeshadow, eye liner and the foundation on her face had all melted, making her look like a clown.
She had been too busy texting her cousin and had forgotten to look at herself in the mirrors, rushing to the conference room to humiliate Sabrina with her little announcement. Her initial intention was to put Sabrina down in front of the entire company but now, not only did her plan fail, she was the one who was kicked out.
And with an ugly, clown’s face.
