Innocent till proven guilty. She didn't do anything, so obviously she wasn't willing to bear any responsibility. As such she could only go to the construction site with them to determine who was at fault!
The entire design department took a company bus and went directly to the construction site. On the way, her colleagues took turns attacking her.
"If you're a mistress, just stay a mistress. Could you not come to the company and harm others in the future?"
"Let me tell you the cold, hard truth! If it's your fault, you will be responsible for it alone. Do you think the construction projects are a game? If something goes wrong, people's lives can be endangered, we might be thrown in jail! Can you afford to bear the responsibility? Even if you can't, you have to! Don’t try to run away!"
"You can seduce men anywhere. Why would you come to our construction company? Do you think everyone i n our company is blind?" 1
Along the way, they took turns attacking her, almost pointing at her nose and scolding her. Sabrina could also tell that the design department actually had more men than women. Architectural design was a male-dominated field anyway. At most, there were only four
or five women in the bus, but every single person that was scolding her was a woman.
Her male colleagues didn't say much, instead a few of them looked at her pityingly. Sabrina knew these women were jealous of her. Jealous that she had attracted Master Ryan's attention the moment she joined the company and jealous that she could fight back against Ruth and give her what she deserved. But what drove them crazy with jealousy was the fact that she arrived at work in Master Ryan's car this morning. They were most probably thinking that if this time they could put the blame for the construction error on Sabrina, by then, Master Ryan would definitely punish her.
Facing everyone's accusations, Sabrina did not fight back against any of them. She didn’t have time to think about fighting back. All she thought about was trying to identify, amongst all the designs that she proofread, which document was the one that contained a mistake. Actually, all of the mistakes in Linda’s designs could be easily rectified. If it couldn't b e rectified at all, Sabrina would’ve pointed them out.
Soon enough, they arrived at the construction site. It was a group of buildings that had been built but not yet renovated.
As soon as Sabrina entered the door, she knew what went wrong.
"Linda!" Sabrina yelled confidently.
"Why, now that you realize your mistake, and want to admit it to me? It's too late! You are solely responsible for all the mistakes here today!" Linda said unreasonably.
Sabrina sneered. "When I entered this building, I realized it was that document of yours. I reminded you about it. I asked you if you wanted me to review your designs. You said no! Because even at that time, I could see that there was a problem with your draft."
Linda shouted back, "Even now, you are blindly accusing me! Sabrina, you are so vicious!"
Sabrina was very calm. "Whether I am blindly accusing you or not, the answer is in both our computers. I can bring up the archived copy of the design in your computer and the copy of the draft in m y computer, and compare it with the current construction plan, then you can tell. I know you will definitely say that the design in my computer was changed by me. I'm sorry Linda. My archive is a readonly file copied from you. The date on the document is from before I joined the company. I didn't touch it." 1
Linda was silent.
Everyone else was silent as well.
Seeing Linda's face growing paler and paler, Sabrina quietly said, "I have a way to rectify this mistake."
