Sabrina couldn't help but gasp. She never thought Emma would come up with such a way to punish her. Ruth, who was still holding the pair of old shoes, was also stunned. Ruth might walk around saying that she was from a wealthy background, she was barely capable enough to brag in front of the normal working class and was hardly comparable to ladies of truly wealthy families. The only reason she was called over by Emma was nothing more than to run errands for her. Emma did not even spare a look at her when they were in her car, it was only when the car passed by a bridge that Emma pulled out a thousand dollars and passed it over to Ruth.
"Go on, go buy a pair of old shoes from that cobbler over there," she had ordered.
Ruth didn't understand why she needed old shoes and asked, stuttering. "Miss....Ms. Poole, what...what do you need them for?"
"To hang them around Sabrina's neck," Emma replied cheerfully.
That was the moment Ruth realized how creative the second lady of the Poole Family was to have thought o f something like that, as expected of a lady from an elite family. The thought of Sabrina being forced to parade around with a pair of old filthy shoes around her neck had Ruth rubbing her hands in excitement.
Never had she imagined that Emma had meant for her to smash Sabrina's face in with those shoes, and to smash it to mush no less!
"Ms. Poole...are...are you sure you want me to...smash Sabrina's face to mush?" Ruth stuttered.
"Of course! Do it!"
Ruth couldn't bring herself to do it. Wouldn't she end u p in prison if she were to do such a thing in front of all these people? As arrogant as she might be, she had only committed mild acts of bullying before and was entirely unprepared to go as far as to destroy someone's face in public. For a moment, she questioned Emma in her mind thinking, ‘Why don't you do it, then? Since you are so rich and powerful?'
Of course, she did not have the nerve to say it out loud. She shuddered in fear with her eyes wide. Her entire body was frozen in place as she struggled to move her hands.
"Look at how timid you are!" Emma noticed the fear in Ruth's eyes and smiled. "Why? Are you scared that someone might take revenge for her? Relax! There won't be one person who would stand up for her even i f you search through the entire South City."
Emma scanned the office enthusiastically and realized that people from other departments had also gathered in the Design Department for the drama.
This was the perfect time for her to inform every single person what a skank Sabrina truly was.
"That's right, it’s about time you all find out what kind of woman Sabrina is, how disgusting she is!" She raised her voice smugly.
The surrounding crowd immediately erupted into discussion at Emma's words.
"Oh my God, who is this woman, really? I heard what M s. Poole was saying and I think they mentioned that not only did she faked her resume, she gave birth to a child before marriage. Is it possible that she was selling herself out at construction sites? To those old and filthy construction workers? Ew! We need to sanitize the office and wherever she steps!" Linda added, and a few women beside her all nodded in agreement.
"How did this skank fool so many people? She is probably going to get us all in trouble!"
"Linda, don't you remember the time she blackmailed you into paying her a hundred thousand dollars?" 3
"Beat her to death! This kind of woman would have been drowned to death in the past!"
