Ruth, sounding guilty, spoke with a timid voice." Sabrina, are you going to a banquet now?"
Without a shred of remorse, Sabrina asked, "What do you want!"
Ruth stammered, "I... I know, I disgust you. Everything that happened before this was all my fault. I shouldn't have listened to my cousin and be so prejudiced against you. I admit now that I was only jealous because of how beautiful and cold you are.
"I... I was jealous of you."
"What are you trying to say?" Sabrina replied frigidly.
"I... I'm speaking earnestly now. I... I'll never think about hurting you again," Ruth managed to say after mustering up some courage.
Yvonne, who was standing next to Ruth, was about to die from anxiety as she listened in on their call.
After she had scolded Ruth so severely, Yvonne was prepared for Ruth to start treating her as an enemy. However, for some reason, an unlikely friendship was formed by the incident instead.
Much unlike her past self, Ruth was even willing to help Yvonne stop Sabrina from going to the banquet.
Ruth continued speaking, "It's a trap. My cousin, Autumn Poole and all the other people you have
offended will attend the banquet. If you show your face there, those women will savor the opportunity to slaughter you.
"Sabrina, don't go."
When she heard this, Sabrina didn't know how to react.
She could never have expected that Ruth, who had once treated her as a mortal enemy, would actually be helping her now.
Despite their bad blood, Sabrina could feel Ruth's sincerity from her stammering tone.
However, she remained silent.
She still had no idea why Ruth was helping her.
Meanwhile, Ruth continued, "I used to be...too vain. I always believed that I was a VIP myself, since the biggest shareholder of the firm, Master Shaw is my cousin's cousin.
"Now, I realise that I am just a poor part-timer.
