Sebastian watched in silence as Nigel's car drove off t o the distance. Kingston asked, "Master Sebastian, the car just now...it looked like it belonged to Master Nigel, was he here to visit Madam?" Kingston was preoccupied with parking the car and missed the scene where Sabrina stepped out of Nigel's car and smiled sweetly at him.
"Nigel did not consider my mother his aunt. The only reason he addressed her as his aunt was simply out of fear towards me," Sebastian said in a low voice, before heading into the hospital alone.
‘Mother had been looking more energetic lately, making it seemed like a lie that she only had a month t o live.' He thought.
He knew that it was Sabrina's consistent companionship that had uplifted his mother's spirit and caused her to feel slightly better despite her condition. He had to admit that Sabrina was resourceful. She remained cold and distant in his presence as if she wished to have nothing to do with him.
However, she transformed into that gentle young woman who could always find the right word to say and got his mother to listen; and in front of Nigel, she transformed yet again to an obedient little girl who seemed to want nothing but approval.
Sebastian felt as though there was a pitless fire burning within him as he thought back to the way Sabrina smiled at Nigel and how Nigel was looking back at her playfully, with his arm hanging out of the window. 1
The more he tried to replay the scene in his head, the colder his eyes turned as he strolled towards the ward where his mother was. He overheard the conversation between Sabrina and his mother before he entered the room.
"Sabbie, time went by in a blink of an eye, didn't it? I was already halfway through the two months I had left to live, and the past month with you by my side had been nothing but joyful. However, I might be a little greedy to hope that I could live to see my grandchildren in the future," Grace spoke gently to Sabrina as she placed a hand over her lower belly. Sabrina immediately flushed crimson in response. She did have a child in her, but she had yet to find out who the father was. 3
"Sabbie, be honest with me. Have you had your period this month? Do you feel nauseous from time to time? I t has been a month since you and Sebastian were married. These reactions could happen as soon as within 25 days from the first night you spent together, " Grace looked eagerly at Sabrina. 1
"Mother..." The redness on Sabrina's cheeks grew brighter at the questions. It could be a coincidence or that her body was reminded of it by Grace's words, but she suddenly had the urge to vomit. She hadn't experienced much morning sickness ever since she found out that she was pregnant. However, at that very moment, she felt as though her insides were turning upside down. She knew she could not show any signs of her pregnancy in front of Grace. She mustn't!
"Excuse me, Mother, I'm getting a call from my company, I would need to step out for a minute," Sabrina blurted and ran out before Grace could respond.
She ran right into the arms of someone at the door. The man held her close into his arms and asked," What's wrong?"
Sabrina looked up to find Sebastian's petrifying eyes and stuttered, "I...I am okay." She then struggled out of his arms and ran off before finally stopping outside the corridor to vomit into a trash can. 3
He followed and stood behind her without her noticing. He waited until she was done before saying i n an ice-cold tone, "Do not show any signs of your pregnancy in front of my mother!"
