On the other end, Yvonne stammered slightly. "Sab... uhm, Mrs. Ford, sor...sorry, I didn't know you were Mrs. Ford, so I was quite rude to you. Please...please forgive me.
Sabrina groaned. "Yvonne! Why are you stammering!"
Yvonne didn't reply. That's because she was terrified! She was Sebastian Ford's wife, and yet she hid her identity. Yvonne always found her pitiful and pitied her, but in actuality, she was the biggest boss!
Sabrina sighed. "Yvonne, I've known you for more than a month and I've never seen you stammer. If you don't tell me why you’re suddenly all awkward, I'll come upstairs and visit you right now."
Yvonne said in a panic, "Don't come up! I’m very, very busy, bye!"
With that, Yvonne ended the call. Sabrina felt slightly guilty. She really liked Yvonne. She wasn't like everyone else, good at talking and socializing. Since she was young, she appreciated every single friend she made, just like how she appreciated Nigel.
She decided to finish her work and pay a visit to Yvonne personally. If she had to apologize to Yvonne, she would. She hadn't been at work for a few days, so initially she thought she had lost this job. She started o n her work, picking up her documents and separating
them into piles. She was always serious and dedicated to her work, organizing her documents well. Within two hours, she had an idea where to start, and her neck was sore. She raised her head and stretched.
A cup of coffee was handed to her, a woman's voice said respectfully, fawning all over her. "Mrs. Ford, drink some coffee if you're tired, I specifically ordered the type that you liked. Even though you haven’t worked here for a long time, I've always been concerned about your well-being, I can tell you like coffee and desserts. Try it, you would like it."
Hearing her voice, Sabrina felt a rush of dislike. This woman's name was Lina, one of Linda's closest friends. She had always criticized Sabrina in front of Linda, even when Sabrina was right in front of her. The first day Sabrina had reported for work, she had met two gossipers in the elevator and one of them was Lina. Even though Linda hadn’t hit Sabrina viciously like Linda had, she wasn't a good person either. That was why Sabrina didn’t like two-faced people like her.
"Take it away," Sabrina said calmly.
"Mrs. Ford, try it. Once you do, you'll know I'm not lying.” Lina pretended not to hear her, still smiling brightly at Sabrina. True enough, she pushed the coffee in Sabrina’s direction again, and she didn't refuse. Lina was delighted. There wasn't anyone she couldn’t buy. Lina was famous in the office for being two-faced, a smooth-talking master of socializing.
Just when she was about to brag about it to her colleagues, she saw Sabrina calmly throwing the cup o f coffee she had just placed in front of her into the trash can.
Lina was shocked, her expression turned ugly.
Sabrina wasn't angry at Lina. She wasn't angry at anyone. She just felt that there was no need to accept Linda as she didn't need a friend like Lina. Since there was no need to deal with each other, what was the point of small talk?
To make herself unhappy?
She didn’t hate Lina.
