Ruth followed Yvonne and Sabrina, her self-esteem lower than ever before. Yvonne wanted to eat the buffet that cost a thousand dollars per person, and Sabrina really brought the both of them there.
The restaurant was huge. There were so many choices that she didn't know where to begin. The choices were luxurious, they served truffle, caviar, bluefin tuna. For the cheaper choices, there were fish roe, beef and such. Yvonne and Ruth were stunned. Sabrina remained calm. She didn’t know much about food, she was happy as long as the food could fill her stomach s o she didn't have much desire for luxurious restaurants like these. But seeing Yvonne and Ruth picking their food excitedly, Sabrina was delighted. She never had many friends, nor was she good at making friends. But she craved friendship and she was always sincere to others. Just like right now, as long as Yvonne and Ruth were happy, it was worth it n o matter how much she had to pay.
When Ruth and Yvonne had chosen their dishes and arrived at their seats, unexpectedly, Ruth saw a big bowl of mushroom soup on the table. She couldn't help it. "Wow!"
Sabrina laughed. "Let's eat."
"Mrs. Ford, you...how did you know I love mushroom soup?" Ruth asked.
Sabrina shrugged. "The first time you fought with me, you were so sorry, and yet you were having a big bowl of mushroom soup. It’s so thick and creamy and yet you gulped it down, so I remembered it till now. But if you haven't eaten in a day, you should eat less, start with something light."
Hearing her words, Ruth suddenly started crying.
Sabrina immediately shut up. Did she say something wrong? She wasn't good at talking. No matter who it was, she was used to expressing herself through actions and not words.
"Mrs. Ford, I...I deserved everything for what I did to you. I really didn't expect you to be so nice and kind. I finally understand why my cousin-in-law likes you so much. He has been using his life to protect you, and that's because once, you put everything on the line and saved him. I know, Mrs. Ford, in the future, I will always use my life to protect you."
Sabrina looked at Yvonne, embarrassed and uneasy. She was more familiar with Yvonne. She didn't know what to say.
Yvonne patted Ruth on the back. "Sabrina already has Master Sebastian to protect her, why would she need you to protect her with your life? From now on, we’re all friends. Don't cry, your snot is going to fall into the soup, then all of us can't eat it!"
Ruth laughed in embarrassment.
Sabrina laughed too.
"Eat up!" Yvonne ordered sternly.
"Okay, okay!" Ruth immediately raised her spoon obediently and started to scoop the soup into her own bowl. She then rolled up her sleeves and started eating, slurping the soup deliciously. Sabrina and Yvonne looked on happily.
When they were in the middle of their meal, Ruth suddenly placed her fork down and took something out of her bag and handed it to Sabrina.
"Mrs. Ford, this is for you," Ruth said respectfully. Sabrina paused. "What is this?"
