Ruth's expression eased into a smile. Seeing that Ruth had recovered, Sabrina could finally relax slightly. She did not even step foot in the office for the entire day and went straight home after picking Aino up. Upon arriving at their residential area, Sabrina subconsciously looked around her in search of those familiar eyes. But no matter how hard or long she looked, she couldn't find them. Sabrina returned home with a heavy heart, and remained gloomy during dinner and her playtime with Aino afterward.
Sebastian came home to her like this. "What's wrong?"
She sighed. "Sebastian, my mom...do you think she is still alive?"
Sebastian didn't know what to say. He couldn't be certain of the answer so he couldn't promise her anything. He could only hold her close.
That night, the two entwined into one with her taking most of the initiative. As though that wasn't enough, she seemed extremely eager to have another child. Each time, she would ask, "We have been together for a few months now, how is it possible that nothing is happening in my belly?"
He bopped her nose teasingly. "Are you that eager to get pregnant again?" "Duh?" she said smugly. "You didn't see it, but I was
really pretty when I was about eight to nine months pregnant. It's a shame that you missed it."
If he had to be honest, he would love to see her when she was pregnant, not to mention experiencing the wait outside the delivery room for the moment his child was born. A moment like that must be filled with excitement. The thought of that drove him to pull her close again and she was more than happy to comply.
The next morning when she woke up, he was no longer lying next to her on the bed. He had been very busy lately, spending most of his time and energy on taking over Star Island. Even Sabrina was feeling the pressure of it as time was running short, but she was reminded by the man's unmoving composure every time that she needed to be on the same page with him. She needed him to know that she could take care of herself.
She got up and went to the balcony to water the flower she had planted. She had purchased a few pots of flowers online the day before yesterday and they had been delivered yesterday. The sight of flowers of splendid colors coming to life in the morning at the contact of a drizzle of water was refreshing and Sabrina could feel her spirits lifting. She believed that her mother was alive. She had to be! After returning from the balcony, Sabrina went to dress Aino.
