Still Wanna Escape After Stealing My Heart? novel Chapter 880

Noticing his expression darkening, Jane immediately responded with a gentle tone. "I'm sorry, Mr. Poole, I shouldn't have said that. I will be more careful in the future, it won't happen again."

Alex remained quiet as he looked at her. She was a woman who knew when to advance and when to back off. Jane went and took the bowl he was holding and placed it aside, before wrapping her arms around his neck. "To make up for saying the wrong thing, you can punish me however you want, how about that?"

"Do you really love me?"

She lowered her gaze and hesitated for a moment before nodding. "I really do love you. That's how I feel s o I wanted to say it out loud, even though I shouldn't have. I know that saying too much could mean ruining the beauty of certain things. But don't worry, M r. Poole, I don't want to burden you in any way. I'm an adult, not a twenty-year-old little girl. You do not need to be concerned at all. If someday you want me to move out but don't want to say it, just tell me 'Woman, I plan on renovating this house. Move out and come back when it's done', and then I'll know. I will move out and never come back. Okay?"

Alex did not reply. She was simply too obedient. Every compromise she made hit him right at his core. He didn't love her, because he was still thinking about a

woman named Lily Parker. She was his first love, and he had been in love with her since she was sixteen for five years. Five whole years. He could bare his heart and place it on her hands. When that girl went away t o a foreign country, Alex's heart went with her.

However, though he might not love Jane, he could still care for her, however much he could. 1

He turned and pinned Jane down underneath him abruptly. Startled, Jane muttered, "Mr. Poole...are...are you angry at me...?"

"Call me hubby!" He commanded in a hoarse voice.

She instantly understood what he meant and stammered, "Hu-hubby...!"

He dived down and what happened after came naturally. The only difference was that she wasn't taking the initiative, he was in control. That night, he commanded over and over again, "Say it, say you love me! Call me hubby!"

Every time he did, Jane felt a sweet warmness in her heart. So, very sweet. The next morning, Jane was understanding enough not to mention anything about what happened the night before. She kept to her daily routine of waking up early to cook Alex breakfast and massaging his shoulders when he was resting. At night before going to bed, she would help soak his feet in hot water until he relaxed completely, before placing them on her lap and massaging the acupoints on his feet patiently. She kept to this routine and took pleasure in it for years. During that period of time, though he never once mentioned that he loved her, the way he treated her was different from the start. He would take her anywhere with him and buy her the most luxurious jewelry in the world, to the point that she could dress just as well as any other wealthy housewives in Kidon City.

In Kidon City, she was known to be Alex Poole's confidante. Everyone respected her as she had completely transformed into an elegant woman with grace. She was also becoming more and more observant. She had never imagined to find a man so brilliant. To be by his side, even for a year, would be more than worthy to her.. She didn't ask anything of him, not a title nor a child.
