The figure that suddenly appeared before Jane was a monstrous doll almost half the size of a normal person. The doll bore its teeth mischievously and the body was decorated with musical notes.
"What on earth is this??" Jane screamed in her mind. She was so frightened that she was actually in tears.
Aino, who was holding the doll with an innocent and proud expression, looked at her and asked, "Aunt Jane, are...are you scared?"
Jane tried her best to ignore her fear upon hearing Aino's sweet innocent voice, and looked down to find the child holding the doll up as though she was showing it off to Jane.
"Auntie, this doll is for you."
Jane wasn't sure how to respond.
"You little thing, if Aunt Jane gets sick because you scared her, Uncle Alex is going to teach you a lesson!" Alex reached out and pinched Aino on the nose.
Jane immediately felt bad for the child and stopped him. "Alex, don't scare the child!"
"Auntie, this is for you. Do you like it?" Aino asked with her head tilting to the side.
Jane wanted to say no, but she forced herself to nod, before summoning the courage to take the monstrous
doll and passed it over to Alex. She was far too scared of the doll. There was truly no way to understand how children think and how could their tastes be so odd? She glanced over at Alex and found that the man was not at all intimidated by the doll. He played around with it and pressed on the button that was on it. An inhuman shriek instantly erupted from the doll.
Jane jumped and Alex started laughing.
"Hold me, auntie." Aino opened her arms, asking to be picked up. Jane scooped Aino up, her eyes fixated on Aino with affection as though she was looking at her own child.
"This kid scared the bejesus out of you and still you love her so much. You might as well just go ahead and get her to be your goddaughter," Alex suggested to Jane.
Jane immediately nodded cheerfully. "That's a great idea!"
"Jane, you should have your own children with Mr. Poole here while you still can, a few of them! You two should have children!" Sabrina blurted out. She saw how happy Sebastian was when the old Master Shaw told him that he had a little brother. In that moment, Sabrina knew that anyone would want someone who was linked to them by blood, as many as there could b e. Therefore, Sabrina hoped that Jane could have her own children, because she could also tell how much Jane actually wanted a child of her own. It wasn't just her, even Aino could tell that Jane wanted a child. The reason why Aino gave her the doll was because she wanted Jane to have her own child soon.
Sorrow appeared across Jane's expression at Sabrina's words for a split second, before she quickly resumed her gentle smile. "I...I don't want a child."
Sabrina bit her lip. For someone who loved children a s much as Jane, how could she not want a child of her own? Just as Sabrina wanted to ask about it, another car drove by them. The car stopped and Ryan and Ruth came out.
"Sabrina! Aino! I finally found you!" Ruth shouted excitedly.
