Substitute Bride and Her Husband Who Disappeared novel Chapter 124

"Ouch."

Nancy winced, her hand flying to her forehead, but her watery eyes never left Charlie.

She had played a part in this mess. If she hadn't agreed to Vivian's plan to take her place in the marriage, Vivian would have had no choice but to go through with it herself.

Nancy was the instigator of this whole affair, and she felt obliged to take responsibility for Charlie.

"You are indeed quite handsome," she admitted.

A smile broke out on her tear-streaked face. Once she had come to terms with the situation, her spirit had lifted.

"Come on, sit down and eat. You didn't eat much earlier."

She picked up her fork, grabbed a piece of salmon, and put it in Charlie's plate.

A low chuckle escaped from Charlie. It seemed that his gentle persuasion had paid off, and Nancy had come around.

His plan had worked.

Vivian deserved some thanks for this.

As Nancy ate, she kept adding food to Charlie's plate, her amber eyes curling up in delight.

After dinner, Nancy stretched, wiggled her fingers, and hopped onto the bed.

Charlie watched her, a sudden itchiness in his heart.

He hadn't fulfilled his duties on their wedding night, after all.

"What are you waiting for?"

Nancy waved him over, "Come here, lie down."

"Cough...cough..."

Now that the moment was here, Charlie felt a bit nervous. He glanced at the time, "It's just past eight, isn't it a bit early? Maybe...we should watch a movie?"

"What's early about it? It's not early."
