Charlie didn't want a repeat of the time he found Nancy in the rain. If anything had happened to her then, he would never have forgiven himself. Now that their relationship was growing closer, and Nancy was showing him more trust, he felt it was time to say that.
However, after he spoke, watching Nancy's face darken, he felt a pang of regret. After all, their relationship had grown quite intimate, but it hadn't crossed that final line yet. "Nan…"
"I agree!" Nancy interrupted him, her face tense as if she was facing a formidable enemy. "I know you're worried about me, so I don't mind you watching over me, but…" At this point, her full, pink lips pursed tightly. She struggled for a moment before continuing, "If… if you see something… can you promise not to get angry, not to blow up?"
Charlie was taken aback. "What?" Nancy stomped her foot in frustration. How was she supposed to tell Charlie about Vivian's betrayal?
These past few days, she hadn't seen Alexander, but she had a feeling that he was up to no good. If Alexander suddenly appeared and revealed his secret affair with Vivian to Charlie, wouldn't he lose his mind? Nancy's tense expression was due to her thoughts of Alexander, the man who disgusted her so much! What could she do? What could she do?
Charlie was a smart man. He already knew about Vivian's betrayal, but Nancy, being an innocent girl, was unaware of this. Her current distressed expression was due to the difficulty of voicing her concerns.
He let out a soft laugh while taking Nancy's small hand in his. "Okay, I promise you! As long as you're not being kidnapped or bullied, I won't get mad or lose my temper over anything else."
Nancy let out a deep breath, relieved that Charlie hadn't pressed her for more information, otherwise, she wouldn't know how to answer.
Back at the hotel, after Nancy had taken a shower and just stepped out of the bathroom, Charlie called her. "Nan, come here."
As Nancy was drying her hair, she walked over to him. When she saw the bracelet in Charlie's hand, her eyes brightened. "Wow! This bracelet is so beautiful!" Charlie glanced at her, "You like it?" "Em!" Nancy nodded vigorously, "I really like it. It's elegant and simple, very pretty."
"Heh…" Charlie chuckled and told her to extend her hand. Nancy extended her hand with a smile. After Charlie carefully placed the bracelet on her wrist and examined it, he nodded in satisfaction. "It really does look good. Nan, remember, you must wear it all the time, except when you're showering. Understand?"
Nancy blinked in confusion, "Ah?" His fingers were warm against the bracelet, caressing it gently, whispering softly like a lover, "This is a surveillance device. The pendant on the bracelet is a pinhole camera."
Nancy was surprised. How did he manage to sound so gentle and sweet while he was putting a surveillance device on her? Anyone who didn't know better would think he was whispering sweet nothings to her!
"Oh!" Nancy pulled her hand back with an exasperated look, shooting him an angry glare.
