Substitute Bride and Her Husband Who Disappeared novel Chapter 138

Nancy was quite certain she had never met the man before. He had not appeared at the banquet that night nor during the filming of the past few days. She hadn't the slightest clue what she could've done to offend him.

Looking towards Director Grant with a puzzled expression, she questioned, "Director Grant, who is him…?"

Director Grant let out a hearty laugh, patting his belly, "Ah, Vivian, here's the thing. You’re a hobbyist, not a professional. So, for the sake of the film’s quality, I specially hired this gentleman, an amateur pool champion."

Pausing for a moment, he added with a polite smile, "Don't take it the wrong way, Vivian. I'm not saying you're bad at pool. But City Nustin is a small place, and we really don't know what the standard of the reigning 'Angel' is. So just for our film quality, you understand, right?"

Nancy did understand. She was generally easygoing, seldom taking offense unless deliberately provoked.

"I see, Director Grant. In that case, let's get started."

"Good."

Waving his hand at the crew, Director Grant signaled them to get ready.

"Vivian, the pool balls are already arranged on the table. I won't bore you with the basics. According to the script, you hit the red ball in the bottom left corner with the cue ball first. Once the red ball is pocketed, hit the blue ball in the middle pocket, and then the red near the center pocket. After that ball is pocketed, hit the green ball in the semicircle, and finally hit the red ball near the side of the table with a back shot."

The director's detailed instructions left some bystanders bewildered, but Nancy nodded attentively, "Alright, I'll do my best."

"Hmph..."
