Substitute Bride and Her Husband Who Disappeared novel Chapter 24

Nancy was scared by his gaze. Her heart beat wildly. "C-Char..."

Charlie's eyes narrowed abruptly, emitting a perilous gleam.. Nancy hurriedly corrected herself "D-Darling, why are you looking at me like this?"

The menace in his eyes subsided, yet Charlie's gaze remained somewhat unnerving. "She wants to switch with you?"

Nancy originally wanted to tease him. But under his terrifying gaze, even if she had a hundred times more courage, she wouldn't dare to tease him again.

This man simply couldn’t be joked with!

She could only confess, "No, no, it's now because Vanes invites her to endorse a product, and the only requirement is to perform a 180-degree turn in the ad. She doesn't know how to do it, so she still needs me to replace her..."

Charlie stared at her intently, trying to discern the truth from her expression. After a few seconds, he coldly turned his face and stepped on the accelerator. The car started moving again.

With the crisis over, Nancy patted her chest with lingering fear. She felt puzzled. If Vivian really wanted to switch with her, shouldn't Charlie be happy?

Why was he so fierce just now?

While Nancy was pondering, Charlie's lips curled up with a subtle arc.

After a while, Charlie asked, "I saw that you were in a good mood when you came out. Was it because of this?"

Nancy blinked in confusion and turned her head to look at him, "Because of what?"

Charlie glanced at her sideways while driving, a faint curve hanging on the corner of his mouth, "Vivian won’t switch with you. You can continue being Mrs. Firth?"

No matter how Nancy looked at it, she felt like he seemed a bit smug..

She bit her lip and coldly snorted, "It’s not true!"
