The moment she saw the watch, Wendy was furious.
She yelled at Sean, "What's this supposed to mean?"
Sean replied, "Nothing. I just bought a watch for one penny on Amazon last year."
Zander could not help laughing out loud.
He explained, "Ms. Welsh, Mr. Lennon meant he bought a watch last year.
"Also, Mr. Lennon and I agreed that Ms. Welsh and this watch are well-suited since you're worth the same."
The watch was worth a penny, and everyone knew that.
It was outrageous as they were calling Wendy worthless.
With that said, Wendy was so furious that her body began to tremble violently.
The man with narrow eyes beside her turned ghastly pale.
He had invited Sean over to humiliate Sean.
Instead of humiliating Sean, Sean tricked him. He was ashamed and mad.
Everyone in the hall began talking again.
"What's this all of a sudden?"
"I don't know. They seem to have bad blood."
"He'll suffer for messing with the Welsh family, right?"
One person looked at Sean and said solemnly, "I don't know. But from the looks of it. Mr. Lennon doesn't seem to take the Welsh family seriously."
Another person also added, "The Welsh family is big and powerful in Ocean City. Making such a scene at their birthday party, I'm afraid Mr. Lennon won't be able to make it big in Ocean City anymore."
"Indeed, Mr. Lennon is asking for trouble."
The discussion was interrupted by a hysterical roar from Wendy.
